Paige's POV
As of today I finally understand why people have designated drivers when they go out to drink.
Apparently my brother's little group can't handle a party without getting drunk or even stoned off of their asses.
You see at first I thought when we got here we were just going to chill out with Derek and them and the guys would have a few drinks.
What I didn't think realize was that most of the people here were already legally allowed to drink, live on their own, and do things that my dad warned me never to do until I'm twenty-one or married.
You see I thought Derek was the type of guy to just have a party that involved: a few friends, a little bit of drinking, some dancing, and of course food. I mean the boy was so laid-back and normally kept to himself.
So when Chase got closer to Derek's house I was completely and utterly shocked.
Before we even pulled up to the house you could see endless amounts of drinks all over the lawn, and it seemed like the closer we got to the house the more surprising everything got.
As soon as we stepped out of the car you could see half naked people passed out on the lawn with spilled drinks around them or even shards of glass.
I cautiously walked around the sea of bodies being careful not to set on anyone or anything.
When we got inside almost everyone was drunk or stoned out of their minds.
There were a bunch of people who were in clusters sitting around both inside and outside either making out, dancing somewhere, drinking or just talking.
One guy was stumbling around and knocked me into Chase not mention that he almost spilt beer on me. I'm shocked Derek even has enough room to fit all these people.
Ashlyn and Kyle had left me alone with Chase and Kyle who both quickly wandered off to God knows where.
So now it was just me and a messy room full of strangers and empty bottles laid on the ground, waiting for someone to trip over them.
I almost was another victim of a bottle related injury.
As I stepped over the all the mess, I finally noticed the music playing both inside and outside.
It sounded like they were playing some song by Drake outside and another one by Chris Brown in here.
Ashlyn was right, Derek really knew how to party.
He just didn't know how to party the way I would've preferred, but I guess everyone has their own style of partying.
"Hey Baker," Derek said, walking over to me. "How's it going Paige, Are you likin' the party so far?" He asked, stopping besides me and slinging an arm around my shoulders.
I nodded. "Yeah it's cool I guess I've never been to a party like this, so I don't really know what I'm supposed to be doing. I am so glad to have been invited to attend my first big party."
Derek playfully pushed me on the back of the head. "Stop with talking so formal." He chuckled. "This is a party babe loo-loosen up, don't be so stiff."
He shoved a beer in front of my face. "Here, drink it. You need it more than anyone else in this room."
I smiled and reluctantly took the bottle and started to drink. "I don't think I plan on staying long, Derek. I just wanted to hang out with Chase and you know Kyle, Ashlyn, and Ryan"
Derek put a hand to his chest as if listening to what I said actually hurt him. "Hear that.... that's you breaking my heart. Now you better loosen up and have fun Paige. Anyways, if you're looking for Chase he's over there in the kitchen getting a drink."
I placed the beer down on an empty table and said, "What- what? What makes you think that's what I wanted to know?" The words left my mouth in a slur and I didn't even know what I was saying.
"I just figured. But, unless you plan on standing here alone for a little longer while Chase is over there in the mercy of drunk, barbie doll college girls." He said, pointing over to the group of girls staring intently at Chase.
"Let me be the first to tell you that once he gets a couple drinks in him there is no way he'll be coming back to see you tonight. So, go on if you want or you can just stay here with all these guys here and let them hit on you."
"Oh– uh," I blushed, "I'm just gonna go over there with Chase."
"Are you sure?" Ryan picked up the beer from the table and handed it to me.
"I'm sure," I said, quickly dismissing his offer and speed walked over to Chase.
-------------------------- *A few hours later
Several hours past and still Ryan hadn't shown his face since him and Chase ditched me when we arrived.
It wasn't until Paul (one of Ryan and Case's friends) pointed out Ryan coming out one of the guest rooms, drunk, with a girl I've never seen by his side that I realized what he had been doing.
As he walked gracefully down the stairs (or tried to might I say) I decide to call him out when he got halfway down the stairs.
"Ryan, come on ugly we've been waiting for you." I shouted, standing up with my hands on my hips, "Let's go pooh head, you can play with your toy later come on let's go! We're about to play a game."
That night Ryan decide to chase me around the house (well actually I ran he fell most of the way around) for an hour just for calling him out in front of his hook up and everyone else.
I watched Chase and the guys play beer pong, I played truth or dare and would you rather, spin the bottle, and whatever else the guys and Ashlyn decided to do.
I of course lost each game and made a fool of myself, but I kept remembering why I was doing this.
I did everything I could to change from the old, boring me to the new me.
If getting invited to hang out with Ryan and his friends, feeling like I belonged somewhere, and getting to spend more time with Chase meant that I had to act like I wanted to be here, then I should win an Oscar for my performance.
Basically what can I say the party was lit, well it wasn't until Chase and them got drunk and we ended up having to leave and I had to drive oh joy.
