Chase's P.O.V.

"Managing to get trapped in a hospital room by my ex-girlfriend's strange best friend I can believe. But getting trapped in the room with my ex-girlfriend's brother while she's lying in the room in a coma, now isn't that just fucking fantastic." I grumbled under my breath.

"Chase, I actually do have something to say to you. As shocking as that may seem," Ryan said sitting across from me on the other side of Paige.

"What now Ryan? If you're trying to blame me for all of this then I don't need to here it." I snapped keeping my eyes on Paige.

"That's actually not what I wanted to say," He replied. "Just tell me did you have anything to do with Paige ending up like this?"

"How could I have made Paige fall out of a tree when I was nowhere near her? I'm not telepathic Ryan, as shocking as that may be. Besides if I had to chose for one of you to fall out of a tree after everything that's happened, I would've chose you." I admitted, chuckling at the thought.

Ryan looked at me oddly before shaking his head, "You're a sick person and you know I didn't mean it like that. At least I don't mean it like that anymore."

"I just wanted to know if you had said or done something to Paige that could've caused her to run off, keep secrets from me about where she was, and hide in a tree. So did you and tell me the truth because my little sister is laying on a hospital bed in a coma, so I'm not really in a mood to deal with jokes and lies," He warned.

"I already knew that by the way and I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything to maker mad. Of course I've done a lot of things in the past to make her mad, so who knows I might've and just forgot about it. Look, I've already screwed up things with Paige, and we both screwed up our friendship and Paige's feelings. I already feel bad enough about all of this." I mumbled looking up at him.

"You still like her don't you?" He asked curiously.

"No Ryan, I don't like her at all. I just decided to date her for a couple of months and then get pissed off when she broke me over something stupid that her older brother forced into her head," I snapped sarcastically.

"So is that a no on liking my sister or what man?" He asked looking at me in confusion.

Gosh I swear he can be as dumb and clueless as Dory from Finding Nemo. "Sense the tone idiot, it's sarcasm ever heard of it? If not learn it, and yes I do still lo-like your sister."

"Woah, the great Chase actually has a heart capable of showing love for someone other than himself," He smirked.

"Shut up, You may be taller than me by, what two inches. But that doesn't mean I still can't beat you up," I replied smugly.

"Yeah, yeah you and I both know that after what happened at the party, you aren't gonna be trying to fight me again." He laughed sitting down on Paige's bed and poking her cheek.

"You're the only person I know that's inconsiderate enough to sit on his little sister's hospital bed and poke her in the face while she's in a coma." I acknowledged shoving him off her bed.

"You really are a butt to me sometimes you know that." He wined rubbing his side as he stood up. "Oh and one last thing, that fight at Derek's will seem like nothing but a tap compared to what will happen to you if you hurt my little sister."

"I know I'm dumb but I'm not dumb enough to screw things up with your sister. Besides I kinda like the thought of my body staying whole and undivided. I really would appreciate if you didn't try to kill me." I stammered nervously.

"I honestly don't understand why you like her because I honestly can't stand her sometimes." He chuckled, " But you can relax Chase, as long as you don't hurt my little sister, you won't have to worry about me hurting or most likely killing you."

"I can name at least ten reasons for why I love her," I claimed.

"Great for you now keep them to yourself." He replied glaring at me.

"Well let's see she's thoughtful, sweet and she's oddly patient and really smart, considering the fact that she has you as a brother who's neither of those things no offense," I pointed out before he interrupted me.

"Chase, would you like a free serving of shut the hell up?" He asked throwing a shoe at me.

"When did you even take your shoe off?" I exclaimed in both shock and confusion.

"Around the time when you started talking about how sweet she was." He replied taking off his other shoe.

Rolling my eyes at his immaturity I continued my list, "Where was I? Dang I forgot I guess I'll just have to start all over. So she's thoughtful, smart, and patient. She's pretty, kind, generous, really funny and a great kiss-"

"Finishing that sentence and you're dead." He growled throwing his other shoe at me

"Okay, you're sister is a great kisser. Do you comprehend that - Ow, heavy-handed, inconsiderate, little prick!" I barked rubbing my shoulder.

"Chase, you're so lucky that we're already at a hospital because you're gonna need a whole lot of help when I'm done with you," He shouted repeatedly punching me.

"Fine I get it okay stop hitting me," I glared pushing him away.

"Yeah, yeah I missed you too." He chuckled trying to hug me.

"I never said I missed you now go away." I laughed throwing his shoe back at him.

"Whatever I'm gonna go bug a bunch of nurses until one of them gives me my own room to sleep in." He chuckled getting up and making his way to the door.

"I'm pretty sure you have to either be pregnant or actually in need of a doctor to get a room in a hospital Ryan. Even a goldfish would have enough common sense to know that." I said shaking my head at his stupidity.

He just looked at me for a second and then back at the door crossing his arms, "Well goldfish probably have more common sense than me and that sounds like a lot of work to use common sense, so I'm just gonna not use that and follow my body. Now my body is telling me I'm tired and my stomach says I'm hungry so I'm gonna go."

"You were dropped on your head as a baby weren't you?" I asked curiously.

"Nope fell down two flights of stairs at a resort when I was four though, and didn't break or sprain any bones," He said smiling proudly.

"That explains so much." I chuckled, "Now go and get your request for your own room when you are perfectly fine, well almost perfectly fine, by everyone who works at the hospital. When you know that they are saving those rooms for people who actually need medical help." I said trying to talk some sense into him.

"It's not my fault this hospital didn't build enough rooms for everyone." He mumbled, "They should've built more rooms."

"You're an idiot." I replied as he walked out the door."

"Oh I know but you're an idiot too since you thought it was a good idea to be friends with me." He laughed shutting the door behind him.

I rolled my eyes and looked down at Paige before standing up, "Maybe it was."
