The Storm

Chapter 1

I chased my dog to the dock. "Coco we need to get inside!" I yelled to my German Shepherd. She ran to the end of the dock and I followed.

There was a sudden burst of wind and I fell into the water. I saw Coco jump in and I was pulled under by a wave. I blacked out, but before I did I felt Coco drag me up.

When I woke up there was a man with wet brunette hair, and dark brown eyes. He is wearing a wet tank top and Camo pants.

I sat up slowly and he backed away some. "What happened?" I asked putting a hand up to my forehead.

"I'm not sure how you got in the water, but you were floating on a piece of drift wood. I swam out and dragged you to shore. Are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine." I said looking around. "Where are we? Who are you? Where is Coco?"

"You ask alot of questions. I'm Miguel and who is Coco?" Miguel asked looking at me questionably.

"My dog, she should have been with me. Please tell me she is okay." I said looking up at him worriedly.

"Oh your dog she is fine, she helped me get you to shore." He said smiling. He whistled and I got tackled by Coco. "Your dog has had military training. Am I wrong?"

"How did-" I began to ask but he cut off.

"I'm in the military. I have seen the dogs training, and as for where we are. This is Hitokuijinshu. It is Japanese for cannibal."

"Cannibal?" I asked a bit worried at the name.

"I ran into some um animals, and your dog seemed to know what she was doing."

"My family used to be friends with a military family. They died so we decided we would take care of their dog. I have grown attached to Coco."

"I'll have to find a way for you to get off the island. It's not safe here but for now you can follow me." He said as we stood. I realized that he was at least half a foot taller then me.

He started walking and I followed him. "Where are we going?"
