The Storm

Chapter 2

"To a shelter I have set up. You must be hungry I have food there." He said as we started walking in the woods.

"Thanks, and I never asked why you are here." I said as Coco ran in between us.

"For uh reasons." He said trying to avoid the topic.

"It's okay if you don't want to tell me." I smiled and we arrived at a big hut. We walked in and Coco followed me.

"Wow, did you build all of this yourself?" I asked looking around.

"Well not really, but I don't want to talk about it."

"That's okay, just one more question." I said looking back up at him.

"What?"

"What are we going to eat? I don't mean to be rude but I'm hungry." I said as my stomach growled.

"I wouldn't exactly call that rude. You must have been out for at least a day. I'll be right back, so stay here and I will be right back." He said grabbing a knife. "Don't leave the hut."

~time skip~

I heard a noise and I jumped a little. Then Miguel walked in. "Was that you that just made that noise?" I asked sighing.

"Yeah I'm sorry if I scared you." He said laughing a bit. He had sticks with cooked fish on them. "I didn't know how much you would eat, so I hope I got enough. I also got your dog her own fish."

"I can't thank you enough." I said taking the fish for my dog. I threw the fish and Coco caught it. He handed me two fish.

We both ate, and then I fell asleep leaning against the wall. When I woke up I could hear heavy rain falling, but I was warm. I looked down and there was a military jacket covering me.

When I looked back up on the other side of the hut. Miguel was leaning against the wall. His eyes opened and he smiled. "Good morning. You know I never asked your name yesterday."

"My name is Jessica." I said smiling. "Thank you for the jacket."

"Your welcome. You got cold last night so I decide to give you my jacket. I'll go get us breakfast." He said getting up and leaving.

A little after he left Coco started growling. "What's wrong?" I asked looking at Coco. I heard growling come from outside. Wolves.

A wolf broke down the hut door. A lot of other wolves walked in and Coco got infront of me. One of them knocked Coco away. "Coco!" I yelled as they started to walk towards me.

I started backing away but I fell on my butt. They moved closer and I closed my eyes. I heard yelping and footsteps. I felt arms wrap around me. "It's okay Jessica."

I opened my eyes and saw Miguel. "Coco!" I said looking at Coco. He pulled away from hugging me and we walked over to Coco.

"She is okay." He said looking at me gently. I suddenly hugged him.

"I was so scared." I said as he hugged me back.

Later he fixed the door. Coco was back on her feet.
