The Storm

Chapter 6

"Jessica I need you to trust me." He said looking at me.

"Why?" I asked looking at him. He had a knife.

"Do you trust me?" He asked and I shook my head yes. "Stay still okay?"

I shook my head okay again. He threw the knife and it cut the rope tying my hands. I fell to my knees.

Then, I walked over to Miguel. I untied his ropes and he grabbed my hand and led me away from them. I wonder what happened to Coco. I hope she is okay.

"They are gone!" Someone yelled and Miguel picked me up and started to run. I wrapped my arms around his neck so that he wouldn't drop me.

"You okay Jessica?" He asked when we were in a safe spot. I shook my head yes. "Good. Oh, I was so worried."

He hugged me and I hugged back. "I was so scared." I said crying into his shoulder.

"It's okay. I'm here."

"Can we try to find Coco?" I asked as he put me back on my feet. He shook his head yes. We started looking around and I would occasionally call out Coco's name. "What if they killed her?"

Tears were threatening to fall again. He quickly hugged me. "I'm sure Coco is okay." He said kissing my forehead.

While we were searching by the beach I saw Coco's dead body. "Coco..." I said quietly as tears started to fall down my cheeks again.

Miguel hugged me. "I'm so sorry Jessica." He said as I cried into his shoulder again.

"Why? Why did they kill her?" I asked continuing to cry.

"Will you feel better if we bury her?" He asked as he pet my hair. I shook my head yes and wiped away some of my tears.

He dug a hole and gently put Coco's body in it. We marked her grave with a big rock. I hugged him again. "Thank you."

"It's okay." He said kissing me. I kissed back.
