A regular Day

"It was a dark and stormy night,"

"No it was not!"

"Would you let me tell the story!"

"No. Not if you are not going to tell it right."

"Fine then you tell the story!"

"I will. It was a regular afternoon......."

 On a regular Tuesday afternoon like every other, Kim and Jess just got home from school. The attend Mountain Valley High in Tucson, Arizona.

"Mrs. Scarlett gave us way to much homework." I say as I throw my bag on the floor.

"Yeah, I'm not going to do it. Are you?" Replied Kim.

"No."

"Then what do you wanna do?"

 There was a short pause. Neither of us knew what we should do with about 4 hours left till  go home.

"We could go down to the coffee shop, then we could meet up with Cole at the park?" Suggested Kim.

 I think Cole is really cute but I have only known him for about a week so I can't say  I have a crush on him. Plus, he is a year younger than me and  Kim. Saddest thing is he has a girlfriend, SARA. Even if he broke up with her, Kim is a lot cuter than I am so she would  be the first pick. That's okay though. I like being single, kind of.

"Yeah. You text Cole and I'll get our bikes. It should only take us about 5 minutes to get coffee and another 3 to get to the park so tell him to meet us there." I say after about a minute of thinking.

  We go to the coffee shop right down the street. I get an Ice green tea and Kim gets a Peach ice tea. Nobody ever really gets coffee there because it is gross, not like anything there is worth killing for. Cole ends up meeting us on our way to the park.

"So how is it going Jess? You ok?" He says as he skates next to me.

"Good, Yeah. Why?"  I didn't notice my nails digging into my skin.

"Ok. Good. How about you Kimmy?" He gave her that nick-name when he had a crush on her. He clams that he's over her but I think not.

"I'm good! How are you doing?" She is so peppy, it kinda scares me sometimes.

"Very good."

  Now there is quite until we get to the park. I like it. All you can hear is the cars deriving by, the kids in the yard and the wheels of our bikes and Cole skateboard scraping the concrete. We get to the park and automatically, Kim and I run to the swings. We stay on the swings for about ten minutes then cole leaves to go check in with his parents.  he doesn't live very far so he will be back in no time.

"Hey, soo. You ok? I saw that thing with your nail digging into your hands on the way over here." Said Kim. A hint of concern in her voice.

"Yeah I'm fine. You can't tell me he is not really hot!" I reply.

" Hey I have an idea. We should hide from him before he gets back."

"Okay. Hurry!"

  We run and hide behind the school building. There was no point though, he had already seen us.

 Out of no wear, Kim yells "Tag!"  and hits Cole hard in the arm. We all go running in different directions. Then Cole starts to go after Kim and I sit on the top of the slide for about 5 minutes.

I feel a hand hitting my arm. "Kim! Jess is it!" He is standing there next to me as he yells it.

I get him back with a nice slap to his left leg and scream," Not anymore sucker!" as I rush down the slide.

We play for about an hour, running, climbing, and screaming. Then it is time for us to walk back home to wait for my mom to come get me. We leave the park at 3:30 and get home at around 3:45. When Kim and I get home, we eat ice cream and listen to music.
