Chapter 3
###
Lucas must have fallen asleep some time around the early morning. His body simply shut down from all the exhaustion he felt. Thankfully he was too tired to experience any nightmares too.
Lucas woke up again in the later morning. He was still tired but better. He wasn’t supposed to be on the Grid today, so he had no idea what he should be doing with himself all day. He wasn’t used to that anymore. Free time. His life was the Grid.
he decided to take a bath first. He would try and rest a little more today and maybe find some more information on Grybov by looking at some files. There had to be some intel they were missing. Some connection they failed to see. But first… a bath and something to eat.
Lucas went into his bathroom and let hot water fill the tub. A shower would take up half as much time, but he couldn’t shower. It was too close to what he had experienced in Russia. The water-boarding. Even a simple rain shower could bring him to his knees still. But no one must know that.

Nikki had hardly slept all night. She thought of Lucas and what she had promised him. She would try and find something out about Grybov. Why on earth had she agreed to this? And how should she do it? She was just a table-dance girl. Nobody. But she had promised it. And she would help Lucas. Like he had helped her. She just needed to find out how.
Angrily Lucas pushed his laptop away. There was nothing on the files. It seemed personal contact was the only option. He had to befriend Grybov. He had to get into that inner circle Grybov had at the club. And he would have to use Nikki for that.
Lucas groaned. He didn’t want to use her like that. As long as he was the only one whose life was at risk things were fine. But putting others in the same danger… She was innocent, a young woman. She had no idea what she was agreeing to when she told him she’d help him. Lucas wished he could keep her out of this. He couldn’t explain it, not even to himself, well, especially not to himself but he wanted her protected.

Another night would begin soon. The music was already blaring, the girls taking their positions. Nikki was serving again. Kirill Grybov and some friends of him were expected. Sergej was making sure they would get plenty of everything, the finest delicacies out there; the best looking girls. She wasn’t one of them, thankfully, but she would be needed to care for the other men. Nikki didn’t like that idea. Why couldn’t she dance tonight? That was easy, she could pretend to be somewhere else then, she could focus on Lucas and blind everything else out. The clothes they should be wearing were even more revealing too, it was like being naked out there.
The night started out slow, only a few men were trying to grope her. They mostly wanted to drink for now. Grybov arrived early though. He and his group occupied an area in the back. Sergej and Jekaterina immediately rushed over to take care of them. Nikki watched them for the fraction of a second and suddenly felt a man grab her around the hips from behind, pressing his body against her. “шампанское! двастаканa!“ the man shouted as he pushed Nikki towards a seating arrangement. She had relaxed by now. The man behind her was Lucas. She knew his voice. As he sat down in the armchair Nikki straddled him, making an effort in keeping up the charade. At least it was easier with Lucas. She felt like she knew him. And he wasn’t that rough. He wouldn’t harm her. She buried her face in his neck, so she could heard him whispering in her ear. “I didn’t mean to scare you.” He mumbled, his breath caressing her neck, making her shiver slightly. He was so close, his hands on her hips, his breath on her skin. “You haven’t.” she replied, pulling her head back and trailing her lips down his neck.
