Nathan's POV (point of view) -

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" The only thing in the room that could be heard was my booming laugh ricocheting through the tiny room. It was a deep belly laugh that curled my toes. My eyes were tearing up. Was I over reacting? Completely. It was the very thought of my little mate getting ready to rule a kingdom. Everyone knows what happened to the first born but it is a bit taboo to talk about it. She had been in our school for what? Now that I think about it I don't really know... anyways being alphas my brother and I would have known if the princess had been staying here.

My room-shaking laugh quieted down to a deep rumbling chuckle. As I looked up I was met with the disbelieving glare of my brother. His mouth was slightly open like he wanted to say something, but was too incredulous to do so. His head was slightly cocked to the side and his eyebrows were pulled together. He started slightly shaking his head back and forth in that disapproving way he does. I took a glance at my mate and got an entirety different reaction.

"Well then..." her lower lip trembles, i can tell that she's trying not to cry. I instanyly feel overprotective and a burning desire to harm whoever made my baby cry. but since I'm almost positive it was me who made I don't think that would work.

"Ass..." my brother quietly mumbles. He looks at me and I see the tell tale sign of his eyes hardening from their soft pale blue to a stormy grey blue that I couldn't help but compare to the sea if someone pissed off Poseidon.

"You know what?" I could tell it was more of a rhetorical question to himself.

"How dare you laugh at her! Not only is she our mate, but for God's sake she is the PRINCESS! If you don't think that she is worthy of being our mate and leader than you don't deserve her." I must've seriously ducked up if Kameron is yelling at me twice in one day. His voice was dripping with venom. He glared at me the whole time he walked over to our mate. Once he reached her he let a small smile grace his face and grabbed her hand rubbing small soothing circles on her knuckles. I could tell he already loved her from the look of adoration in his eyes. He was never afraid if being branded a girl for having emotions. I could tell she already was beginning to love him as well.

He leaned forward and pressed a kiss to her eyelids, nose, forehead, and cheeks. He leaned back and gave her his huge grin that I knew many girls gave fallen for before. The dimples he has make him that much more attractive. Not being gay because I know I have the same sexy smile. I just usually use mine for evil. She blushes a scarlet red that's really cute.

'That should be us ...' my wolf Xavier whines in my head.

'It would be if we hadn't messed up.' I sighed regretfully

'No. You messed up Nathan. I played no part in this.' I could almost hear him scowling.

'WHAT? No, you could have stopped me! I'm an idiot! You know that!' I should've stopped and realised what I was saying, but I was too distracted by the sight of my brother whispering comforting nothings into our mates ear.

'Who am I? Your mother?' He shut me out after that, leaving me to my thoughts. When I gave it a second I realised thar my little Alex really is the princess. Every time I'd seen her before was when father took Kameron and I to meet with the royal family every year. I hadn't recognised her because on the throne she was in glamorous ball gowns with her hair piled on her head topped with an elegent diamond crown. She was also so outgoing and charming when she was there. My little Alex was shy, and didn't radiate power like the Royal's.
