I froze in horror. Did he just say... Death? We needed to get out of here. I have to tell Danny and Fiona what I heard. Until then-

My thoughts were interrupted when Corple came into the room grinning,  "Do you like your new room?"

I had to take all of my energy to stay calm and act cool, "Yes, it's very, nice and um, green! I guess"

"Good, good." His voice sounded slightly scratchier, "Did you try on any of the outfits?"

"No, not yet. I kind of like my clothes."

"Of course, of course. Well, you must be hungry, I'll have one of my men escort you and your friends to the dining hall." He then clapped, and almost immediately, a uniformed guard came. Corple ordered, "Escort her and her friends to the dining hall." With that, he proudly walked off.

When we got to a red room with the name "Daniel" above the door, the door opened to a room identical to mine, except everything was red. Danny had the cool red armour on.

"Mac! Hey! Check out this sweet armour! It fits perfectly, and- hey didn't you get a suit too? Why aren't you wearing it?"

"Um... green's not really my colour, so I didn't wear it." I answered, not wanting to tip off the guard.

I think Danny could tell I was lying, but he just shrugged and replied, "Well, suit yourself."

When we arrived to Fiona's blue room, she also was wearing the armour. "Hey guys! Mac! Why don't you-" I gave her the "don't say it look" and she understood.

As we were walking to the dining hall, I took the chance to whisper to them what I heard.

"What?!" Fiona whisper-shouted, "We have to get out of here before-"

But she got cut off mid-sentence. We were here. The dining hall was a grand room with many doors. Only one was labeled. The rest I assumed led to different parts of the kitchen. In the centre of the room, was a long table, now piled with many different food dishes. There were six chairs around the table, three of them already filled with Robra, Garvin, and Jarce. At the head of the table was another chair-throne. In it was Corple, looking very powerful.

"Come and eat!" He boomed, gesturing towards the chairs.

"This is better than any cafeteria I've ever seen." Commented Danny.

We ate, and we talked while we ate (leaving out the whole you-are-going-to-kill-us thing).

"You still never answered our questions." Fiona stated, "We want answers!"

Corple sighed, "Very well then. There is an old legend that when the British first came to Canada, the aboriginals hid away the Secret Stone because-"

"The Secret Stone?" Danny interrupted, "What's that?"

"I will explain later." Corple continued, "As I was saying, they hid it away because they didn't trust the British, and they didn't want them to take their power. You see, the Secret Stone is believed to hold unimaginable power! That kind of power is exactly what our enemies, the Conquerors, want. That is why we need you three, to hunt down the Secret Stone first and save the world! It would be terrible if the power fell into the Conquerors' hands. We especially need you, Makenzie. You already have great natural powers, that with proper training can be used for greatness!"

I just sat there a few moments, processing what he'd just said. I finally managed to choke these words out, "Me? I mean us? What do you mean natural powers? Do I have like super strength, or laser eyes, or something?" I sounded so childish to actually be saying those words.

Corple gave a tiny chuckle, "No, no. Nothing like that. You my dearie, have the power of wisdom, knowledge, and combat. I know this is a lot to take in, but I must leave you with one final question: Will you join us, to stop the Conquerors, and save the world?" With that, he got up and left.
