The Hunt

Chapter 6 Walking

We had come out to a wheat field. There was nothing to see but wheat, for miles, and the elevator we came out of.

"Now what?!" Danny exclaimed, "We're stuck here!"

Well, I guess we should start walking. those guards might come for us. Besides, what else is there to do?" Fiona said. She was right, there was nothing else they could do. So we set off in the direction we exited the elevator, hoping to come across civilization. When the sun rose, the guards had still not come after us, so we slept. When I woke up, it was about midday and I was very thirsty. The others slowly woke too, and we just kept walking. I was about to give up hope, when we came across a stream! After we had drank, Danny had an idea,

"Let's follow the stream! People always build things near water."

"Good idea!" Fiona and I both responded. But as we were walking along, Danny went a little too close and fell in! He had taken many swimming courses, so he was able to easily get back ashore, but what he said next surprised me a lot,

"Guys! I think there's a secret passageway down here! Should we check it out?"

Fiona looked at me, and I in response, looked at her in surprise. Me? What was I supposed to do? Why am I the leader now? Does it have anything to do with my "natural powers"? I nodded, and she nodded back. We were in agreement.

"Ok. Let's do it." We went down blindly, finding out that there indeed was a secret tunnel under the water! There was a little air pocket pocket before we went down the water tunnel, landing in a deep pool of water. There was an iron door in front of us, next to it was a "Welcome" mat. How cozy. We pushed the door open, just to find another one behind it! There were five more doors, and we pushed through all of them. Through the last door was a platform, that had a single button on it.

"Should we press it?" Fiona asked.

"We've come this far."

We got on and pressed it. The platform started to slowly go up. As we went up, the doors started to form shapes... no, letters. They were going to spell a word! When we reached the top, we all looked down,

"No..." I gasped. The doors had formed the word "BEACONS".
