While everyone is busy seeing what's already seen, hearing what's already heard, and living in each cliché; here I am, trying to see what's yet unseen, trying to listen to what's yet unheard, and trying to understand each cliché.

They said that what is invisible to the naked eye might be seen by the beating heart.

I wonder, I wonder, if anybody have ever seen what I see, or heard what I hear, and felt what I feel. For what is there to really see? What is there to truly hear?

I glanced again at the people around me; everyone is busy in the world they claim to share with their fellow. All seemed to be contented with what this world could offer.

Oh, well, we all are stars in the same galaxy. We all shine so brightly and sometimes form constellations with other stars. The thing is that, when you look closer, some stars are mesmerizing even without the others, some shines so bright because of the others, some are dim so that another would look bright, and some are dull even though they are bright.

The truth is that I am trying to find an inspiration to write something mysterious; something different. But I couldn't. I just couldn't.

I would have written a case where someone dies and the protagonist will soon reveal who the culprit is; or a haunted thing, a pen or a house perhaps, and then the hero will discover what's behind the enchantment or whatsoever which made that certain thing 'haunted'.

I also thought of writing something related to mythology like Pandora's Box and the like; or a fantasy where the lead role would find a treasury that has never seen in eons; mayhap something about reincarnation? Maybe I should just write something about people outwitting one another - a battle between geniuses, perhaps; or should I just write something about CIA or FBI?

But no. I already have read all those sort of stories. I need a new mystery; or at least a mystery that only a few ever thought of.

I closed my eyes as I tried to make my imagination work. Noises are passing through my ears; my mind never listens but hears. I could sense the flow of blood in my veins as my heart beats rationally inside my chest. I wonder why my heart is still beating. I wonder why I'm still alive.

Or am I really alive? Does the beating of one's heart a proof of life? Is having a life the same with being alive or Is being alive means existing? So when your heart stopped beating that means you also stopped existing? What does existence even means?

I am seating here right now, with a beating heart and breathing lungs, but do I really exist?

Let me ask you. How could you be so sure that you really are here - reading, writing, singing, dancing, eating, or whatever it is that you think you are doing right now - and that it isn't just your brain working on a surreal imagination, making you think that you do really exist? What if you are dead who continuously dreaming about life? What if you are nothing but an illusion; a fantasy of somebody's brain? And then, who is that somebody?

What if this reality is just a dream and your dreamland is the real world? How could you be so sure that you are really in the real world when your sub consciousness could manipulate you? What if you are just dreaming that you already are awake when the truth is that you are still slumbering right now, right at this moment, and reading this is only a part of your brain's plot?

Have you ever thought of existence? Or have you ever thought of the existence of other creatures beside you?

After all, astronomy says that there are more than a billion stars in one galaxy; and there is not just one galaxy. You see, there is always that point zero one percent of possibility that something impossible exists.

Chances...

What if you are just a product of one's imagination? That the world is a mere vision of one great mind; like a computer game, I guess. The characters in the computer game you are playing thinks they really do exist and that they are the one controlling themselves when the truth is, or at least the truth the you are believing in, you are the one controlling them.

What if someone out there is the true person who controls you and it just makes you think that you are the one controlling yourself? You being here is because he/she chose you to be his/her character in a game where this world that you think you is dwelling in is the setting of the game.

Yes, your mere existence is a mystery.

Have you ever thought that what if nothing really exists? That there really is nothing to see, hear, taste, smell, and feel; and everything is a mere illusion. An illusion of your brain, and then everyone's brain is an illusion of another mind, and then that mind is also an illusion of another, and the process goes on.

Well, your science has proven that everything you see, hear, and feel; everything you sense, actually, is because your brain functions just right. Again, I'll ask, what if everything you sense is just a product of your mind. It just so happened that your brain is bored and all it sees is pure darkness or pure light so it created a world out of nothingness, instead. Possibilities, darling, and probabilities.

Fairy-tales and fantasies. Do you still remember the stories you used to read when you are a kid - the fairies, witches, monsters, aliens, and mythologies? What if they really do exist? That they are beside you right now, invisibly observing you, or they are even pretending to be one of your kind and you've already talked to them an hour ago? But then again, what if they are also like you, thinking that they are the only creature who exists. That mankind is only a product of their imagination; and that for them you don't really exist because you are only a myth.

I remember what people used to say, that there is one creature dwelling inside one person, a soul. But as I think of the probabilities of one's existence, maybe, just maybe there's not only one creature dwelling in one human structure. For every strand of hair, every inch of your skin, and each neuron and cell is a secret refuge in one anatomy.

I smiled. Now I understand what they mean when they said that there is more than one universe. For each person is a galaxy composed of different stars; and those different galaxies form a universe. You see, every kind of creature form their own universe. And there is not only one kind of creature that exists.

I opened my eyes again to see what my brain wants me to see. People: I wonder what their brains want them to see, or hear, or feel. I wonder if even one person in this crowd ever thought of the mystery of one's existence.

This enigmatic reality is something I wanted to know. But, then again, I am afraid. Yes, how am I able to accept the fact that I don't really exist? But I wanted to know what is behind everything. I wanted to know if what I see or hear is really the thing to be seen or heard. Or maybe what you see or hear is the real thing and the one in front of my eyes is a mere phantasm.

For as I said earlier: What is there to really see; what is there to truly hear?

So now, my friend, if I may: What do you see? What do you hear?
