Chapter 6: End of summer party

  Briar's POV

   It's been a week now and Myles and I got our duet back. He told the principal that it was all a misunderstanding and he even stood up for me for the movie night bit. We decided to make a new duet since Myles had showed our duet to Tess and of course she turned the moves around and made it hers, but the new one is even better. We didn't tell anyone we were changing our duet..Hopefully Tess would get a sweet surprise.

  Myles and I have been getting along lately and ever since he fought with Tess he had been hanging out with Britt, Trev and I, I got to know him a bit better and I have to say that there's more to him then people think. 

 Myles' POV

  I'm glad that things between Briar and I are going well, she understands me like no one does. There are only a few hours left for the end of summer party. I was kind of nervous even though our duet is amazing. The group dance is also coming out great, luckily Briar and I were paired up together for the lifts, I feel like she really trusts me and I wouldn't want to break her trust in any way, I care too much about her. 

  I feel very nervous for the end of summer party and the only way how I used to relax my nerves was when my mum used to sing to me to calm away my fears, so I head into the old music room where Briar and I have been practicing for the past week and took out my guitar, I haven't sung in public ever since mum passed away but I always do it to calm my nerves.

 Briar's POV

  I was heading to the old music room to practice my solo before I actually do it in front of millions of people when suddenly I hear someone singing, it was a boy his voice was amazing. I moved closer and peeked through the door. It was Myles! I decided to stay and watch for a second (watch video below)

  

  When he saw me he didn't stop singing he just smiled and kept singing while looking at me. His voice was incredible so I just sat down to enjoy his amazing voice.

  Myles' POV

  As I was singing I see Briar enter the room, she just smiled at me and sat down. I smiled back at her and just continued singing while looking at her. It was the song we were going to do the duet to before Tess ruined everything. I had decided to learn it because I really liked it. Briar seemed like she was enjoying it and singing to her just made me feel a calmer from my nerves. 

  Briar's POV

  He was honestly amazing, what he could do with his guitar it was just incredible, I instantly fell in love with his voice and somehow he made me feel calmer from my nerves for the end of summer party, I had never performed in front of that school before and I was super nervous.

  As Myles finished his song I was just speechless. "You said you weren't good at singing, Myles if that's not good then I don't know what good is" I said with surprise. He smiled and looked down. "Thanks, I appreciate it" he said finally looking at me. "Why don't you sing in the party" I suggested. He just put his head back down and went mute, he seemed upset. "Did I say something wrong?" I asked. "No it's just that I haven't performed on stage ever since my mum passed and I don't know if I could do it." He said. I understood but he had to show people what an amazing voice he had.

   "Myles, I respect your decision but you are simply amaizingly incredible and people have to see what a great voice you have, anyways you really calmed my nerves for tonight, I think I found a way how I won't feel nervous" I said smiling. "Seriously?" He asked with a cute smile. "Yeah" I answered.

Myles' POV

  It felt great that Briar enjoyed my music, I had never sang to anyone before and I'm glad that the first was Briar, I would sing to her to make her feel better any time she would want me to I just love seeing her smile.

  The party was being held by the beach, after the show we were all to be allowed to swim and we would have even eaten barbeque. I went next to Trevor and asked him if he had seen Briar. "No dude, Brittany isn't here either but I'm sure they'll be here soon don't even worry about it (Of course he says that, it's his catch frase)" I go by the snack table and I see Tess walking towards me. "Where's that thing you call your friend?" She asked me with an evil laugh. "Stop calling Briar a thing, she's more of a human then you are!" I shot back. She gets offended and walk away and obviously Julie walks after her. I lean on the table and Ii see Briar walking towards me, she was really beautiful and she was wearing a beautiful white dress, since she needed it for our duet. 

  "Hey Myles" she said. "Hey Bri, you look seriously good today..Not that you don't look good any day...I should probably shut up" I say as my face becomes red. "It's okay Myles, thanks, you look good too" She replied with that cute smile of hers. We just talked for a while until it was time for the duets. The principal went on the stage and went in for his speech

  "Okay students, this is the moment you've all worked hard for, there is something important that I have to say before we begin our show, some talent scouts are here to see you guys dance, they are willing to offer a scholarship for the best dancers, that is for after you finish your days in this school, after these students graduate from here they will be taken to one of the best dance schools in the world, but that my kids, it's gonna be a surprise" he said. 

  Brittany and Trevor were up first. "Good luck Britt" Briar told Brittany hugging her. "Good luck bro" I told Trevor as I gave him a bro hug. They were really good, you could see the chemistry between them, it's like they were meant to be with each other. After them, Isaac and Julie were up they were amazing and Isaac had lots of tricks up his sleeve. Lots of the others went up when finally only two pairs were left. Tess and Devon,and Briar and I. Of course Tess and Devon were doing Briar and I's first duet, they didn't know we had a new one and Tess actually thought she had us beaten, she even looked at us from stage with an evil smile. I looked at Briar and we both smiled at each other at Tess's idiocy. 

  When it was our turn I grabbed Briar's hand "shall we?" I asked "let's go" she replied with a wink. Tess was laughing evily, that is until we actually started dancing. (see vid above) While we were dancing I felt a connection that I hadn't felt with anyone before, Briar was very special to me and I loved that she trusted me so much. 

  Briar's POV

  I loved the connection I felt with Myles during our dance, but I loved even more Tess's face as she noticed we had changed our duet. In that duet I was trusting Myles with my life, it was something I didn't do in the first one, we had many more lifts in this one but I knew that I could trust him
