Chapter 7: Briar's solo

  Briar's POV

  After the duets it was time for the solo, we had extra entertainment in between all of the solos. I was so nervous I had never performed in front my schoolmates. As Myles was doing his solo I could see passion through his dance, I had already changed in to my costume and my heart was beating really fast, I thought it was going to burst out of my chest. I was afraid that Tess would say or do something and make everyone laugh at me, she had been staring evily at me for the past few minutes.

  After Myles' solo was over I ran up to him and hugged him. "What was that for?" he asked with a laugh. "Just to say congratulations, and because I'm really scared and nervous" I said. "Don't be, Bri you're incredible!" He said. The principal went up the stage once again. "Okay everyone we're going to take a break, after this we will have our last extra entertainment so if anyone wants to go for it just go on stage in five minutes, after that it will be Briar who will do her solo dangerous!"As the principal said my name I felt my legs shaking. "Myles I can't do this" I said and ran away.

  Myles' POV

  As Briar ran away Brittany went running after her and I followed them as well. Briar was in a cubicle and Brittany knocked on the door. "Briar please come out" she said. "Britt I'm scared, I'm afraid that Tess is going to do something to me or that everyone will laugh at me!" She said. I could tell she was crying. I leaned on the cubicle door and tried to talk to Briar. "Bri listen to me, you're amazing, you're the best dancer I have ever seen, don't worry I won't let Tess do anything, I'll keep an eye on her I'm not going to let her hurt you okay? Please come out!" I say. 

  "Thanks Myles but no, I'm not dancing" she said as she opened the cubicle door. Suddenly I get an idea "Give me three minutes, Briar you go in front of the stage I'll be right there, I have an idea on how to calm you down okay? Please trust me" I say hugging her, I go running to my room and search quickly for something, something that will hopefully get Briar to dance.

   Briar's POV

   I don't know what Myles has in mind but I'm not dancing. I still do what he says and go in front of the stage where Trevor is standing. "Where's Myles?" He asks. "He went to get something to help Briar calm her nerves" Brittany replied.

    It's been five minutes since Myles left and I was getting worried, the principal goes on stage again and does his final announcement. "Okay everybody, we have an extra entertainment for you, after this song, Briar Nolet please be ready for your solo" he says. I panic as he says my name, but I have faith in Myles and so I wait for him. Then I see him! 

   Myles' POV

   Briar told me that she felt her nerves flying away when she heard me sing so I hopefully thought that if I sang for her in front of everyone here she would get the courage to dance. I was scares ad I hadn't performed in a while but seeing Briar look at me gave me all the courage I needed.

Briar's POV

   I couldn't believe that Myles was about to sing just for me, just to blow my nerves away. He looked at me with a smile. 'this is for you' he mouthed. He then started to sing with his beautiful voice. (watch vid)

   I couldn't believe he was doing all of that just for me. "He knows how to sing?" I heard Trevor say. "Yeah" I replied with a smile. "Bri he's singing to you, he hasn't stopped looking at you ever since he started his song, that's so cute!" Brittany said. I blushed a little. It really was sweet of him to do all that just for me, and my nerves really did just fly away. I've been feeling something towards Myles, I tried to hide it but those feelings are getting strongerand I can't stop them any longer (Hey that rhymes xD), I've fallen in love with my best friend.

  Myles' POV

  It felt amazing singing for Briar, just like it was that morning. As I finished the song and got off the stage, everyone clapped at me and Briar came up to me and gave me a hug. I spun her around then put her down. "Myles thank you, that's the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me!" She said with tears in her eyes.

  "I'd do that and much more for you, I just hope it worked" I replied with a smile. "It did!" she said. I was so happy that I could help Briar, the principal then called her name, she grabbed my hand and smiled at me and then she went on stage and danced her solo dangerous (see vid) She was so amazing, her solo was so strong I've never seen her dance like that before, my heart started beating really fast as I saw her dancing, just like it had while we were watching that movie. I've tried to deny my feelings for Briar for a long time but now it was clear that I had fallen in love with my best friend.
