Chapter 10: The trio

  Myles' POV

   I wake up feeling chest pain...Well it's more like heart break, I couldn't sleep at all after what Briar did to me. I feel horrible and the worst thing is that I'm still in love with her. I keep looking at the photo that Trevor took of us on the beach, that's it, I have to forget about her. But I have to talk to Trevor first, he'll know what to do.

   "Bro what's wrong, you look depressed" He says. "I kissed Briar yesterday" I tell him. "Dude what?! But I thought you liked her, how come you seem so upset?" He asked. "She looked at me with tears in her eyes and told me she didn't feel the same way and then ran away, I feel like an idiot Trev" I tell him. "Dude I thought she liked you, there's something weird in all of this" He says, "No Trev nothing's weird, she just doesn't like me like that so I just have to forget about her" I say as I button up my shirt...Forget about her, easier said then done.

  Briar's POV

  I feel so ashamed of what I did yesterday, how am I even going to look him in the eyes? I wish I can tell someone but I surely can't tell my sister, if I tell Trevor he might tell Myles and Brittany....My sister looks up to Brittany so she runs after her practically everywhere so there's no way I can talk to her about it....Unless..."Hey Abbey, would you like to have breakfast up here today?" I ask her. "Yeah I'd love that....But I kind of wanted to go downstairs and see Myles" she said. "Well then how about you go get us some food and say hi to him while you're there?" I say. "Okay!" she says as she opens the door and goes downstairs. 

   "Brittany come here I have to tell you something before Abbey gets back!" I say. "What is it Bri?" She asks. "Britt Myles kissed me yesterday and told me he loves me but I told him I didn't feel the same way about him and ran away" I said. "What, why'd you do that, Bri you like him and it shows" she replied. "Yeah I do, but Abbey liked him too and she's my sister." I reply. "Oh Bri, I'm so sorry, but seriously why don;t you talk to your sister?" she says as she hugs me. "I wish I could but better not, I don't want her to get mad at me, I guess I have to not face Myles for the next few days, at least until she leaves" I reply. "What about the trio? You're gonna have to see him during rehearsals" she said. I hugged her, since I really needed a hug, why did things have to be so complicated?

  After we had breakfast Abbey and I went to meet Myles in the music room, I really didn't feel like seeing him but I guess I had to go. "Hey My!" Abbey said as she went in the music room to sit next to him. She calls him My now?? I enter the room and try not to look at him and I see that he even tried to do the same. I sit next to Abbey and Myles looks at me with a sad look, I seriously ruined our friendship.

   "Okay so guys, what should we do as a story line for our trio?" Abbey asks. "How about we do a story about a boy who likes a girl, he thinks the girl likes him back but as he kisses her she runs away from him leaving him sad and making him feel like an idiot?!" Myles says as he looks at me with a disappointed face. As he said that I felt my heart break but I couldn't show it. "Oh Myles, it's a great idea but it's more like a duet then a trio." Abbey says. "I have an idea" I say with a low voice. "what is it?" Abbey asks looking at me. "We can do a story about a girl and a boy who love each other but they are too afraid to tell it to each other, there is also a girl who is in love with the boy but she doesn't know that he likes someone else. One day when the girl is about to tell the boy how she feels, she even gets him a teddy bear and everything the other girl who likes the boy kisses him and the girl with the teddy bear sees them and gets upset, she throws the bear on the floor but the boy follow her, the dance can end with the boy and girl hugging and in the end they kiss."

   "That's a great idea, but wouldn't you feel awkward kissing him since you guys are just friends?" She asks. "Yeah Briar, wouldn't you feel awkward kissing me if you feel nothing for me?" He says. "Well either way, I like the idea and since Briar came up with it she can be the girl with the teddy bear. "Thanks" I say. "I disapprove" Myles says. "I'd much rather be in love with you Abbey" he says. My heart breaks even more and I feel my eyes burning, I was about to cry so I got up and ran out of the room in to the girls' bathroom and cried for a while.

   After a while I see Brittany coming in. "Briar what's wrong? I was practicing in the dance room and I saw you run here crying, what's wrong Bri?" She asks. "Myles says he would rather have Abbey play the part of his love interest then me" I say with a broken tone. "Oh honey come here." Brittany said hugging me. "Listen Briar, I know you love your sister but you have to look for your happiness first, and this isn't happy, why don't you just talk to her, I'm sure she will understand." Brittany was right. Right then I get a text and look at my phone, it was Abbey.

 A: Briar are you okay, why did you run out like that?

B: I just really had to go to the bathroom

A: Oh, well can you please come back Myles and I are waiting for you

B: I'm on my way

 "Thanks Britt but I have to go, looks like they're waiting for me" I say. "Okay go, and talk to her!" She says as she gives me another hug and leaves. She was right, I was going to tell them both how I feel, and maybe even ask Myles to go with me to the Welcome party we're gonna have for my sister's school tonight.

Myles' POV

  I don't get why she ran out like that if she made it very clear yesterday when she said she felt nothing for me. I was a bit harsh saying that I preferred being in love with Abbey then her but I was just really heart broken.

   "She's on her way, she just had to really go to the bathroom, I guess she couldn't hold it" Abbey said laughing. "Listen Myles I need to ask you something." She said looking at me. "What is it?" I ask. "Myles...Will you go to the welcome party with me tonight? If you don't already have a date of course." I was shocked, I would have preferred going with Briar but I guess she wasn't interested. "Sure" I say. "OMD yay!" She says as she kisses me. I look towards the door and see Briar standing there crying, she shakes her head and runs away. I pull away from Abbey. "I have to go" I say as I run after Briar "I'll just keep practicing" she yells out to me. I don't know why I want to explain myself to her but something tells me I have to.

   Briar's POV

   I guess it's too late to tell them how I feel now, he has clearly moved on. I sit down under a tree and just cry for a while, I can't believe this is happening. I see a shadow in front of me and I look up to see who it is.

  Myles' POV

  Briar! Briar, where are you! I can't find her anywhere. After a while I see her, but she's not alone. Tess and Julie are standing in front of her and I get closer to listen to what they're saying. "Aww poor Briar, Myles made you cry did he?" She was crying because of me? "I guess that's what you get for trying to ruin other people's friendships." Tess said. "Leave me alone Tess" Briar says with a broken voice. "Aww, this thing is to weak to even speak" Tess says as she pulls Briar's hair.

   "She said leave her alone!" I say as I go in front of Briar. "So first you make her cry and then you protect her? That's pathetic" Tess says laughing. "I said leave her alone" "Who's gonna make me?" she says. "I am, I will protect Briar with whatever it takes" I say. Tess starts crying and she runs away with Julie running after her. I sit besides Briar.

 Briar's POV

   "Are you okay? Did she hurt you?" Myles asks me. "Yeah I'm fine, thanks for saying that but you didn't have to lie just to get her away from me" I say. "I didn't lie Briar, I really will do whatever it takes to protect you don't you get it? Even if you don't like me I still do, Briar I really do like you" He said. "Oh Myles" I say as I hug him crying even harder. "Why are you crying Briar? Why did you run off when I said I'd rather be in love with Abbey then with you? Why did you run off when you saw Abbey kiss me? Just tell me the truth Briar, please, just tell me because you're driving me crazy, I don't know what to think anymore" He said with tears in his eyes. I guess this is it, I have to tell him the truth.
