Okay, hello. So you probably assume this book focuses on a love story between Rose & Luke. It's not. Well, it is, but I plan on saving their relationship for book 2. This book, on the other hand, will dramatize Rose's growing relationship with Skye, patching up their bad history, Skye helping her live without Luke, helping Skye with her first real love (Amsterdam boy), and will of course also include Rose's other friends. Luke will still be in the book, but don't expect a plethora of romantic moments just yet. They'll come, don't you worry, just gotta wait a bit.

Chapter 11: Asian Skater Boys From... Jersey?
By lunchtime, Rose is already exhausted and just wants to go home. She slept through her math class last period, but that only made her want to skip and go home even more. She needs her bed. The desks are tremendously uncomfortable, making her feel as though she is resting on a rock, and her bag makes for a shitty pillow.
At least Rose was in the back of the class, and her teacher's practically blind, so he never noticed, otherwise she would be staying after for a detention. Friday afternoon detentions are one of the worst inventions, although Saturday ones are even worse.
09-16-02.
Rose spins the dial, missing her numbers multiple times from her sleepy eyes, but finally opens her gray locker door and pulls out her lunch and a bottle of water. When Rose slams the door shut, she sees Minnette and waves her over.
"¡Bonjour mon amie!" She greets Rose in a melodic singing-like voice.
"Mon amie?" Rose slowly repeats her words in confusion. She speaks to Rose in French all the time, even though she knows nobody else understands her, except possibly Winter who takes French in school, but even she unquestionably will never be as good as Minnette.
"Ugh. You are brainless. I said, 'Hello my friend.' Keep studying your French, love. How am I supposed to take you to Paris someday if you cannot even speak my language?" She teases.
Rose gives her a light shove with her elbow and Minnette pretends to be injured. Rose laughs a little and Minnette joins in.
When the two walk into the cafeteria, they find their booth in the back. Winter, September, and the boys: Mason Finley, Nolan Hawkins, and some Asian skater boy with them, whom Rose does not know, sit squished together.
"Asian skater boy, who I don't know, is this some sort of a nickname?"
Shit. Did I actually say that aloud?
"Yes, you most certainly did Rose," Finley, says, letting out a laugh. "What, are you making up your own monologue?"
Rose smacks the gorgeous brunette's head. "Just because you're dating Winter doesn't mean I won't injure you, Finley. Watch your mouth."
This only makes him cackle louder. He has an adorable laugh though. Rose's threats, most likely because of how long they have been friends, never intimidate Finley. She actually believes that they amuse him. His dark green eyes are glistening even more much to her annoyance.
Rose takes a seat next to Hawkins.
Nolan Hawkins is tall, with a curly black mane that reaches his shoulders, and constantly blocks the view of his dark brown eyes. Because he spends most of his time inside his room painting gorgeous pictures of just about anything, or practicing his lines for his next role, he skin is as pale as a fluffy marshmallow.
