Rose rushes back to the couch. "I'm ready!"
Winter sits next to her, groaning.
"Finley and I had sex...." she mumbles the words together.
Chapter 26: The V Card Party
"What?"
Rose's mouth flies open, and her hand comes up to cover it, cupping it ever so slightly. She couldn't believe it.
Winter?
The girl who wouldn't go out along with him for a month, making all of the others take turns being her second couple for double dates.
The girl who wouldn't kiss her BOYFRIEND, until a month after they started going out. But wait, they went out a month before she even let him call her his girlfriend.
The girl who took a year to even let him see her naked.
Who went skinny dipping with her boyfriend, but oh wait, she wouldn't take off her bra and underwear.
Not to mention, wouldn't look at him until even longer.
She actually did it. Her and Finley had sex.
"Wow."
She found herself wondering—wondering about Luke. About being with him. A smile found its way to her face, but because of Winter's weird look, she quickly wipes it away.
"What are you doing?"
"Uh, nothing," Rose quickly replies. Changing the subject back to Winter, she says, "So, tell me about it?"
Winter blushes and begins to talk.
...
"Oh honey, I'm home!"
Rose and Winter pause their movie, and in walks September, Minnette, and Skye? Why the hell is Skye here...and with them? Crazy!
September holds bags of chips, Minnette the soda, and Skye a cake.
"Tada!" Minny sings.
"We're having a party!" Tema shouts.
"How did you know I was here?" Winter asks. She'd been hermit-ing all day, before Rose showed up.
"I called Rose, who didn't answer. Then I asked Skye where Rose was, and she said she was looking for you. Since nobody had seen you or Winter we figured you were together. So I asked Luke, who told me to ask Jerrimy, who told me to ask Minny, who told me to ask Noah, who said you were here," September explains, using her fingers to count out the people.
"And the three of you drove over together?" Rose is baffled.
All three girls nod.
"And you're all still alive?"
All three girls nod.
"Weird," Rose mutters.
Skye clear her throats to bring the attention to herself and the huge cake in her hands.
"What's the occasion, so I can write it on the cake?" Skye asks.
"Occasion?" Rose laughs.
"Yeah, we decided to have a party!" September replied. "That's why we came."
