Chapter 19: Babysitting Duty, No Thanks!
It took forever, but Rose finally got Skye home, well to Rose's home. Rose had to wait thirty-eight minutes for that cab, and she may have sort of drunken the remainder of Skye's flask, which she found in her onesie pocket. Luckily, her parents aren't home tonight, or else she would've been in big trouble.
To get up the stairs Rose had to drag her, and she banged her head a few times, but not hard enough to do damage. She almost feel bad, but whatever. It is what it is. Anyways, Skye is wasted, so she'll likely not remember how terribly Rose was at putting her to bed.
Usually, Rose wouldn't attempt this hard with Luke, Maze, Hawkins, or Jerrimy, when one of the guys passed out on her, Rose would simply lay them down on her couch, tuck a blanket over them, and lay down on the other couch so they'd see her when they awoke.
Rose got Skye into her bed, got her to drink a few drops of water, and then tucked her under the blankets, still in her costume. Rose debated about going back to the party. She figures she should probably at least wait until Skye is asleep. Since Rose decides to stay a bit, she pulls off her vibrant red cape, leaving herself in her nun-length cherry dress.
Skye was awake, drowsy, but awake, and Rose was wary of leaving her in the house alone. Rose held Skye's face with her hands and pointed Skye's nose to hers to focus Skye on her.
"Skye," Rose whispered. Her thoughts are interrupted by her phone buzzing. She checks her spam of messages.

He probly wn't even see u. There's so many ppl –September
R U driving me home 2nite? –Clementine
I heard you were here. Can we talk? –Jerrimy
Hey Rose, I miss you - Noah
Babe, heard you left. You should come back - Charlie

Watch your sister. We heard she went to Charlie's instead of having a party. That little liar - Mom
Winter better be DD. I don't want you drinking, but furthermore, I don't want you driving drunk, especially with your sister! - Dad
Get ur ass back here. 2night was supposed to be fun. It still can. Just u, me, T, W, that's it. We'll stay away from the guys, all of em - Minnette
Answer me back when I text you, please - Mom
Answer your mother. Now she's mad - Dad
Rose where r u? - Clementine
Babe, please come backkkkk. Penn's asking about youuuuuuuu - Charlie
Rose knows she just told Maze she didn't want to go back, but now, she is really not in the mood to babysit. Rose wanted to have fun tonight, and sure, now she is worried about seeing Luke, but it still might be fun. Rose would just disregard him, and hope he wouldn't notice her, though Maze has likely already told Luke he saw Rose. She wonders if Maze mentioned Skye.
Fine, she guesses she'll go back, but first she wants to wait a few minutes to make sure Skye doesn't throw up or anything.
