Chapter 5: Saying Goodbye

They left me alone to get myself together. I really cannot believe this. I'm going to have to leave everything & everyone I've ever loved, to go with two strangers claiming to be my parents? And they won't even tell me why. Its just not right !

After I was done being sad, I was just angry. So I got up and made my way back into the house, where I saw all four of my 'parents' sitting at the table.

"Honey...", my mom said as she looked at me sadly.

"Save it.", I snapped at her. "But I'm not going anywhere until you tell me why I have to go with them for a year."

My mom looked at my biological parents like she wanted them to tell me.

"Fine, I'll tell her. Alicia . Your grandmother saved a lot of money up, that she hid from us. She recently died, and left the money to you.", he started.

"Okay... and ?", I said as I folded my arms.

"And, we need the money.", he said in a 'duh' tone.

"Fine. You can have the money, we obviously don't need it.", I said.

I could tell he was getting frustrated because he took a deep breath then continued talking .

"If it was that easy, believe me, I wouldn't be here. The fine print on the contract says you have to be with us for at least a year, and all this other stuff that we tried to get around, so we didn't have to come get you, but there's nothing else we can do.", He said.

"So , the only reason you came to see your daughter for the first time since I was born, was because you wanted money !? ", I yelled as tears welled back up in my eyes. "The only reason you want to spend time with me and take me away from my perfect life is because of money!?

"Um, Yes Baby girl", the lady/my biological mother said as she smirked.

They don't even care about me, or what they're doing to me. They're about to take me away from my amazing life, to be used... ugh.

"You disgust me !", I spat through gritted teeth.

" Oh boo hoo. Now come on, Mark has to get to work. Oh & I'm Tiffany by the way", she winked then walked out.

Mark got up and followed her out & I just hugged my parents.

"Why are you letting them do this!?", I screamed into my father's arms.

"Sweety, there's nothing we can do. I'm not sure what they're capable of. Just, do whatever they say, so they don't hurt you. The year will go by quicker than you think, I promise.", my dad said.

"Now go on, don't make them angry", she said as she held me."We'll keep in contact, we promise. Okay?"

"Fine. What about my clothes?", I asked.

"They already packed them."

"Ugh, they went through my stuff?"

"We didn't even know.. "

I started walking towards the door when I turned around to face them.

"I love you. Both of you", I said, wiping my tears away.

Then I walked out the door. And that's when it all began.
