"Who ate the rest of the Coco pops?" Seriously, there was half a box of my favorite cereal in the cupboards yesterday and now it was gone.
I stormed into the lounge room and plonked myself on the sofa, picking up the remote to flick through the channels on the TV. I heard footsteps thundering down the hall and suddenly Finn burst into the room, a box of Coco pops tucked under his arm.
"Finn?" I said, angrily. "There was plenty of cereal yesterday. You better not have eaten it all!"
I snatched the box from him and gave it a shake. Empty. "Ugh!" I mumbled. "Do you always have to be this annoying?"
"Mum's gonna do some more shopping today. Geez. You need to calm your farm." Said Finn. Then he poked out his tongue and ran off to his room. Finn was so annoying! I was so looking forward to camp.
Speaking of camp, I hadn't finished packing. I skipped down the hall to my room and walked over to my bed. A large, black duffel bag was sitting on my newly washed sheets, as well as my camping pack and sleeping bag.
I opened the drawers of my cupboard and pulled out some clothes. T-shirts, shorts, pants, socks and underwear. Once all my clothes were in my bag, I grabbed two pairs of joggers. Done.
I hauled all of my stuff near the front door, ready for when I left.
Honk!
I opened the front door to see my mum parked in the drive way. She opened the door of the car and stepped out. She was wearing her gym clothes. Must have gone for a quick workout before getting some groceries.
"Becky, are you all packed?" Mum asked me as she opened the car boot and started pulling out bags of food. "Yep." I replied. "I'm all done. All I need to do is have breakfast and brush my teeth then I'll be ready."
Mum continued talking as we walked towards the house, the bags weighing our arms down. "Where's you little brother? He better help while your gone." I giggled before answering. "Like that will ever happen!"
We both laughed as we placed the bags on the kitchen bench. Finn came in, asking if mum had bought another jar of nutella. Apparently he'd eaten that as well.
Mum told him to help with the groceries while I got out a bowl and had some breakfast.
After I'd finished, I raced to the bathroom. I looked in the mirror and fixed myself up.
My chestnut brown hair was tied back in a high ponytail and my facial features were flawless. I got my looks from my mum, who was very beautiful. My hair colour and sparkling blue eyes are from my dad, who's currently on a business trip in LA.
After I adjusted my white T-shirt and denim shorts, I exited the bathroom and went to say my goodbye's.
"Make sure you call each night and no funny business with boys. I love you! I can't believe your going away for two weeks! Stay safe!" My mum said. She was crying as I stood at the front door.
"It's OK." I said reassuringly. "I'll be back before you know it. I love you too." Then I gave her a hug and turned to Finn.
"Be good for mum. Believe it or not, I think I might miss you." I said jokingly as I ruffled his brown hair. "See ya, Becs." He said before giving me a hug.
I waved at them before leaving the house.
A whole two weeks with my friends? I couldn't wait!
