"Oh no...." Lucy whispered. "It's getting dark."

Lucy was right, it was getting very dark. Dark enough that we had to get out some flashlights.

"Should we set up camp or just keep looking?" I asked everyone.

Nick answered me. "I don't think that's such a good idea." He said quietly. "I don't know how I feel about being camped this close to the Wendigo."

"I agree." Sam added. "We should just try to find this cave."

We all nodded and continued in a group, scouring the forest in search of the Wendigo cave.

"Guys!" Kyle shouted in a matter of minutes. "Look what I found."

We all rushed over to see him gesturing with his flashlight, at a certain spot on the ground.

"What is it?" Georgia asked.

"I think it might be blood." Kyle answered as we all stared at the crimson dots on the ground.

"Well, that doesn't really help." Nick said as politely as he could. "It's just some blood on the ground, right?"

"That's what I thought." Stated Kyle excitedly. "But then I found some more." He again gestured with his flashlight, at a spot on the ground a few steps away.

There was more blood.

"Here's what I'm thinking." Kyle said seriously. "The Wendigo took Lee and the others to it's cave, but Lee is dead, so I'm thinking that the Wendigo dragged him out here, to where we found him, leaving a trail of blood."

I started to fit all the pieces together. "So your saying that if we follow this trail of blood, we'll find the cave?"

"Yeah." Kyle nodded.

I was impressed. Kyle was just your average computer nerd, sandy-blonde hair sitting ruffly on his head, with black glasses framing his brown eyes. He also wore a blue beanie, which made him look like a bit of a hipster.

"Good job." Nick said gratefully. "This just made things a whole lot easier."

Then we all started to follow Kyle into the woods.

I walked towards the front, with Nick and Sam in tow.

"Are you nervous?" I whispered to Nick. "A bit." He replied. "We're one step closer to finding our friends, which also means we're one step closer to the Wendigo."

I nodded and kept walking, thinking about what Nick had said. What would we do if we ran into the Wendigo? Would we shoot it with the shotgun? Try to kill it?

That's if it doesn't kill you first....I thought, but immediately regretted it. It made a cold tingle shoot through my body, enough to make me shiver. This was scary enough without me thinking such dark thoughts.

I shone my flashlight on the ground, looking for the next patch of blood.

I found it and beckoned the others to follow.

The drops of blood were getting bigger, which I thought indicated that we were getting closer and closer to the Wendigo's cave.
