It was Lee lying dead on the ground.

Nick volunteered to find out who was on the ground, but the body didn't have a shirt on and we had found Lee's shirt, so it all clicked into place.

"Oh my God...." I whispered as I stared at Lee's corpse, hot tears running down my face.

Lee had a large gash running down the side of his stomach, deep enough so that we could see the flesh underneath. It was in the same place as the blood on his shirt. The blood pooled around the body, creating a metallic smell. His throat was also slit.

Flies crawled and buzzed over his lifeless body and I felt a pang of anger in the pit of my stomach. What if the same thing had happened to the others?

"We need to do something about this...." Lucy mumbled as she delved into one of our backpacks. She pulled out a blanket and spread it on top of the body. Then she went to the base of one of the trees and picked a bunch of wild flowers.

"Rest in peace, Lee." Lucy said, before laying the flowers on his chest. Georgia burst into tears, so I gave her a comforting hug.

Once we had all paid our respects, we were ready to move on.

"Are you alright?" Nick asked as we continued trekking through the woods. I still had tears dripping down my face, so I must have looked upset.

"Not really." I admitted. "What if the others are gone too?" That must have hit a nerve or something, because Nick stopped me on my tracks.

"Becky, there's been no evidence of the Wendigo hurting anyone other than Lee. They could still be OK." He assured me. I nodded and we all kept walking.

That's when we came across something strange.

Spoons, forks and cups were hanging from bits of rope from the branches of trees. Weird feather charms also adorned the trunks.

"What is this?" Kyle asked no one in particular. Nick answered him. "It's the Wendigo." He muttered. "It hangs the possessions of its victims near it's...." He stopped there, horror in his eyes.

"What is it?" Georgia asked, getting more and more terrified by the minute.

"Near it's cave." Nick finished. "Or hole, whatever it's called."

"You mean we're near where the Wendigo lives?" I questioned, quite astonished. "Maybe we can find the others!"

"It's not that simple." Stated Nick. "The Wendigo is smart. It wouldn't just hide it's cave in plain sight, but it's gotta be around here somewhere."

"Nick's right." Added Sam. "We also need to keep our ears open. The Wendigo can mimic sounds, so let's not take any chances with what we hear."

We all agreed to stay in this area, trying to find this cave. The area of dense forest we were currently in was starting to freak me out.

As if on queue, the sun began to set, making our surroundings even more creepier.
