Chapter 10

~Jayden's pov~

“Don’t worry. Oh, I forgot, silly me, Jayden and Luna will be absent this Friday because they need to attend a very important family meeting.”

“Of course sir. Anything else?”

“No, that’s it. Thank you.” Then I hung up the phone. I sighed loudly. “God that took a long time, why couldn’t she just do what I asked.”

Luna and Luke laughed making me jump; I totally forgot that she and Luke were in the room with me, god do I feel like an idiot.

“Kids! Dinner!” As if on cue, all of our stomach grumbled. We all gave each other questioning looks and burst out in laughter then as if reading each other’s mind; we all rushed out of my dad’s office and into the kitchen. Everything was already set up for us, all we had to do was pig out and trust me, that wasn’t going to be difficult.

Luna, Luke, and I started having a food contest. About halfway, Luke cracked a joke and we all started choking on our food from laughing. After we stopped choking all of our faces were covered in tears and our face were bright red. As if we were triplets, we all looked at each other’s faces and started laughing even more.

“Man!” I said gasping from laughing too hard. “We are the weirdest couples alive!”

“Haha! I-I” Luna laughed even harder. “Can’t!” She gasped taking in air before another handful of laughs came out. “Stop! La-Laughing!”

Luke’s tear stained face started turning even more red than possible. “I-I” More tears came down as he laughed. “Th-Think I’m.” He sucked in air. “Going to piss myself!” He started trying to calm down but failed miserably.

Five minutes later and over 20 attempts to stop laughing, we finally manage to gain control and be serious.

“So..” I started looking around.

“Soo..” Luna replied.

“Soooooo.” Luke expanded it even more.

“Guess we have to go back to school tomorrow.” I said making a dying face.

Luke and Luna groaned loudly. “That is one thing I most definitely don’t miss.” Luna said with humor in her voice.

I looked a Luke and noticed a pained expression on his face.

“Hey yo Luke, you okay man? You don’t look alright.” I asked filled with concern.

“I-I uh, I got to go somewhere. I’ll be right back.”

He got up to leave and rushed out the door in a hurry.

“I wonder why he’s asking like that and where he has to go so badly that he has to rush out the door without a goodbye.” Luna asked herself quietly going into her deep thinking mode; I best be leaving her alone.

~Luke’s pov~

How stupid of me, I forgot to feed; as if on cue, my fangs slid down and my eyes turned fiery red. Blood, I need blood. I rushed over to the hospital where they hid donated blood down in the cellar not even bothering to open the door; I just knocked it down with one hit. I yanked the refrigerator door and grabbed packets after packets of donated blood and sucked it dry.

“Ahh, all better.” I moaned.

~Mystery person’s pov~

I heard sounds coming down from the cellar of the hospital I volunteer at; without hesitation I walked down the stairway and opened the cellar door. The sounds were getting louder and I could make out a male voice.

“Ahh, all better.” He moaned.

“What do you think you’re doing down here?” I demanded angrily.

He turned towards me and I let a gasp escape. His eyes! Th-they weren’t normal eyes! They were blood red an-annd there were fangs popping out!

“Y-you, you’re not human!” I shouted closing my eyes thinking I was only hallucinating. I opened my eyes and let out a shriek as the man stood inches away from my face. He smirked at me causing me to shudder. His fangs were exposed clearly for the eye to see; blood dripped down his pink colored lip, and eyes red as the blood that runs through my veins.

“You smell so good.” He whispered in my ear sending chills up and down my spine. “Perhaps I can have a taste? You won’t mind will you?” He asked seductively.

“I.. N-no you may not!” I shouted trying to be confident but inside I knew that I was scared shitless.

He started circling around me slowly like a predator does when it knows it has its prey trapped. “It wasn’t a choice.” And he lunged. His fangs went directly to my neck; his hands traveling fast to my hair and yanking my head to the side leaving my naked neck exposed to th-this monster!

“Ple-please don’t kill me.” I begged feeling my hot salty tears fall down my face and land on the black cold granite floor.

“You won’t die.” Was the last thing I heard coming from him before I blacked out.

~Luke’s pov~

I stared at her unconscious body and thought about what I should do with it.

“Hmmmm. What to do, what to do.” I tapped my chinned indecisively and finally decided to just leave her alone, she had to deal with me attacking her, it’s the least I can do. I carried her carefully, not disturbing her sleep, and placed her on the hard floor. I stared at her while she shook in her sleep. Five minutes later, I withdrew my eyes from her shaking body and jumped out the window. My non-beating heart is missing Luna so much. I rushed back to the pack house quickly hoping to run into Luna. I wanted to make her my soul mate but that would mean I had to bite her and turn her. I can’t do that to her and Jayden, unless they allowed me. I don’t want her to be a monster like me. I stopped in front of the river and glared at my reflection.

“Look at yourself Luke, you’re a monster. You may not have killed that girl but who knows what you would have done to her if you didn’t drink those packets of donated blood before.” I criticized myself harshly. I shook my head trying to clear my thoughts and started walking back to the pack house. I stopped as I heard a twig snapped.

“Show yourself.” I said.

A giggled erupted from the shadows. “Very well.” A feminine figure appeared out of the shadows and started making their way towards me.

“Sa-Sandy?” I stuttered. Sandy is Daniel’s other daughter, therefore, my mother but I refused to call her that. She was cruel beyond compared; she won’t and never will be my mother. She made me into the monster I am today and I will never forgive her for that.

“In the flesh darling. Now come over here and give your mother a much needed hug.” She replied smirking; showing off her gleaming white fangs.

I gritted my teeth and hissed. “Don’t you dare call yourself my mother. I have no mother and if I did, it will never be you. Got it Sandy?”

She placed her hand over her heart and faked a pained expression before laughing like a crazy maniac. “Oh my son, you never cease to amuse me. You can’t run away from what made you, I am your mother and you know it.”

I hissed louder and gave her a bone chilling glare. “I told you clearly that you aren’t and will never be my mother.”

She took a step towards me and I reacted quickly jumping to my attacking position. “I advise you to stay away. I don’t care who you are, I will kill you no doubt.”

She sighed loudly. “I didn’t come here to fight Luke. I came here to talk to you about your soul mate Luna.”
