"Natalia! Baja la musica!" My mom's voice appears, yelling across the apartment.

Sighing, I stop washing the dishes and go turn down the radio. With Frank Reyes lightly playing, my mind was occupied with making sure I cleaned the whole kitchen. Since my mom works all day, it was my responsibility for making sure our apartment was neat and clean. As I put the dishes away, my mom comes out of her room wearing her black scrubs with her black curly hair up, slivers of gray hair running through her bun.

"Natalia, me voy. Cuidate, okay?"

"Okay, have a good day." I say and give her a kiss on the cheek. She flashes me her perfect smile and leaves.

Right as I hear the door shut, I immediately run back to the radio and turn it up. My mom and I agreed that I could go out as soon as I finished up. Trying to get a head start, my ass woke up at eight in the morning.

After hearing the song end, I turn my head to the clock on the oven, which read 12:00. Sighing with relief knowing that I had the whole day to myself, I grab some blue skinny jeans with a blue and white striped tank top and headed into the shower.

After putting on my outfit, I blow dried my hair and turned on the flat iron. While waiting for it to heat up, my phone went off. I grabbed it from my bed.

"Hello?"

"Mi amor! Please tell me you're almost set." My girl Rosa asked.

"I'm almost done. Just gotta straighten my hair."

"Okay. I still gotta find a dress for that party tomorrow and I need your help."

I laughed. "I swear you stay needing my help when it comes to clothing."

"Mi amor, we both been known that." Rosa chuckles.

"Ight well, I see you in a little bit."

"Ight." Shutting my phone, I began to finish doing my hair.

Once that was done, I slide my shoes on and grab my purse. After making sure the stove and the lights were off, I headed out.

Right as I lock the door, Anthony comes out of his apartment, wearing sweatpants and a white t shirt.

"Hola, mami." He grinned at me.

He lived next door to me ever since we were little kids. Due to our parents being the closest of friends, I knew him longer than I've known Rosa.

Imma keep it real with you, he's very attractive. He's tall, has dark caramel skin, and has a smile that girls fall for.

In the streets, people call him Romeo because of how easily he can charm any female. Luckily for him, I'm not one of those girls. Everyday, he'll try to throw a compliment at me and I always shut his player ass down.

But I'm not gonna deny that I lowkey like it.

"Miss me with that mami shit, Tony." I grinned back.

He shakes his head and smiles. "Donde tu vas?"

"I'm heading down to the bodega. You need something?" He licked his lips and walked up to me.

"Yeah. I need you." I rolled my eyes and pushed on his chest.

"Mami, I'm kidding. Or am I?" Anthony winked at me. I laughed and started walking past him.

"Talk to you later, Anthony."

"Bye, Natalia." I smile to myself as I walk off.

I stepped outside and felt the warm summer sun, leaving its warmth on my skin. Enjoying the weather, I walked to the bodega on the corner. Since I was too busy cleaning, I never got something to eat for breakfast. As I walk in, the guitar strings of bachata immediately fills my ears, playing in the background.
