Smith POV
The place was power packed up with kids around our age playing, talking and just randomly loitering around to spend their Sunday along with their friends and of course we were one of them enjoying around leisurely.
The noise surrounding us kept us entertained. The rock music flowing around the floor with the pappy beats up vibrating beneath my feet made a rush of adrenal pumping through my veins, making me more headstrong to win this round.
I look intently at the ten pins positioned at the end of the wooden lane with concentration and once again tighten my grip around the triangular drilled holes and aim my blue ball. "Strike!" I shouted pumping my fist up in the air happily and teased Adam who looked sour for losing once again. I never lose. I smirked to myself.
"Man...you always win." Adam grumbles and stomps his feet like a toddler, making the girls standing in our proximity look at him and giggle, which he reciprocates with a shy smile of his own and scurry away to the canteen to fetch his food and join us around the round table where we already have our food ordered and placed.
He tries to hide his face from the girls taking the shelter of our bodies as a barrier which I really find funny. "Nice show there man." Nathan teases him and pinches his cheeks to which he gets more embarrassed and slaps his hand away and tells him to kindly shut up.
He is always the nicest one amongst us. "Stop being a sour loser, Adam. You know I always win." I smirk looking at him and pat on his shoulder and when I catch some high school girls watching me, I wink in their direction, making them gush and jump with glee and laugh at their reaction. Girls...
"Aha...but looks like that's going to change very soon." Drake comments while joining us at our table along with Victoria in his arms, who looks disinterested to be present amongst us, as always. But his comment was what got my attention and the smile on my face completely whips off and I look at him with annoyance clear.
"What do you mean by that comment, Drake?" I question him, moving forward on my seat and eyeing him directly, urging him to say more and say exactly what he meant by that statement. Drake is known for making sly remarks, but that's with others. I am not the one who will be taking his remarks lightly. I don't take anyone's shit.
"I mean...that you, there, are losing your charm, my friend. Its been a month and you have not even made a good move on that William chick." He picked up the ball from the counter and weighed it on his fingers and turned around to look at me.
"What about those bragging you did at the beginning regarding your status, your tempting and captivating personality which make girls fall for you on their knees? Tell me if you can't win this one Dickinson...its not like you can win over everything you lay your eyes on."
I hate him so much when he tries to put me down. He knows I am as competitive as he is and that I never give up on a good bet made and seeing him testing my capability and patience on it, will surely bring him no good right now.
But arguing with him on this topic will bring me no good either. For now the problem was not him, it was that girl who always accompany Hannah. I need to get her out of the picture if I want to get in. I need to spend time with Hannah, make her comfortable enough to trust me completely.
"What is the name of that girl, the one who always accompany Hannah around?" I ask everyone present around.
"Why? Are you switching girls now? Means you accept I won this bet?" That came from Drake and I simply ignored that fox.
