Juliet POV
I looked around at my surroundings, trying to find something that could help me untie my hands. They left me here alone, tied to a chair as they went looking for Cameron. I tried to free my wrists, but it was useless. It only hurt me more.
"Stop trying" a voice laughed, the door shutting as he walked towards me. "Its not going to help."
"What do you want!" I yelled, glaring at him. He chuckled evily, walking to a table and grabbing a knife.
"You know, when I heard Cameron found a girl he likes I never thought it'd be someone like you." He shook his head, "tsk tsk tsk he just never learns does he." He looked at me with a frown on his face "but you didn't know, did you?"
"What's are you talking about" I hissed, trying to break from the ties again.
"What do you think I'm talking about, bitch" the guy snapped, walking closer. He grabbed my hair, yanking my head back to look at him "I'm talking about how you're going to die" he grinend evily. I whimpered, closing my eyes as tears escaped. He let go, and I opened my eyes to see him walking away. "Don't take it personally dear, its just business." He shrugged, "but that doesn't mean I won't like it." He grabbed the biggest knife on the table, before walking over, "too bad Cameron was weak." He brought the knife to my kneck, his eyes never leaving mine.
"Why" I squeaked out, blinking. He removed the knife, a chuckle escaping his lips.
"Didn't they tell you, Juliet, not to fall in love." Right as the words left his mouth, a gun shot went off and I screamed, squeezing my eyes closed. A loud thud erupted, and then someone was untying my hands. I opened my eyes to see Cameron looking at me with regret filled in his eyes. He lifted his hand to touch my cheek, but I flinched.
"Don't touch me" I whispered, looking down. This guy was a murderer, he's killed innocent people.
"Juliet, please let me explain." He begged, looking at me in the eyes. I closed mine, sighing slightly.
"I-" I started, gulping, "don't ever want to see you again." I bit my lip, opening my eyes. His eyes were filled with tears, but he nodded slowly. He stood up, walking out just as a girl walked in. I recognized her easily as the girl from the hospital.
"Juliet" she gasped, coming over and hugging me. "You're the girl Cameron loves?" She asked shocked. She pulled away, looking at me. "And Cameron's the boy you were talking about in the hospital." She whispered. "It all makes sense now. That's why he asked me to go to your room, and why he told me what to get from McDonald's and how he knew your name."
"What are you talking about?" I asked, frowning. She looked behind me, before grabbing my arm and lifting me up.
"We need to leave." She rushed, guiding me out the door. Once we were outside, we got into a SUV and she sped off down the road. "You should talk to Cameron." She suddenly said, glancing at the review mirror.
"What? No. No. He's a murderer." I shook my head, "he lied to me."
"He's not a murderer, and he didn't lie to you. He just simply never told you he use to be in a gang." She shrugged as if it were the most normal thing possible. We pulled up to a small white house, and she stopped the car. "Go talk to him. Just let him explain." I looked at her, and then back at the house. I sighed deeply, grabbing the knife that I had took from the place and getting out of the car. Hey, I wasn't taking any chances. I knocked on the door, and waited until someone opened it. Cameron stared at me in surprise, his eyes puffy.
"I-i came to-to let you explain." I stuttered, walking past him and in the house. I clutched the knife close to my chest, staring at him. "Don't try anything funny." A small smile made its way on his face, and he held his hands up, sitting on the couch. I stayed standing up, looking at him.
"I never killed anyone." He started, running a hand through his hair. "My father died of cancer, and my mother became an alcoholic. One night, she went out for a drink and never came back." He looked up at the ceiling, trying to blink back his tears. "I was all alone. I needed money to pay the bills and buy food. This guy came to me telling me he knew a guy.. One thing led to another and I ended up joining the game. Juliet I promise you, I thought it was just a dealing drugs kind of thing, but then I found out they were robbing banks and killing people. I took the money and left as soon as I knew."
"You stole their money. That's why they want you dead, and sense you care about me they want me dead to hurt you." I put the pieces together, looking around the room. Only then did I notice the lack of furniture in the house. There was a couch, a small tv and a little tv stand. I sighed, looking back at Cameron. I put the knife on the stand, walking to Cameron. I pulled him into a hug. He wrapped his arms around me tightly.
"I won't let them hurt you, Juliet." He whispered, looking at me. "We have to go." He pulled away, looking around. "We need to leave the state for awhile until I find out everything."
"Wait, Nash and the boys are going on this tour called magcon. We could just go with them." I said, grabbing his phone. I dialed Nash's number, walking to the kitchen. He picked up after the second ring.
"Hey Cam." He said, his voice seemed raspy. I glanced at the time, and my eyes widened realizing it was 3 in the morning.
"Nash, its Juliet." I said quickly.
"Juliet? why do you have Cameron's phone? Oh my god are y'all together?"
"Nash, Nash calm down. We need help. I'll explain at the airport, but we're coming with you guys. We'll meet y'all there in a couple hours." I hung up, telling Cameron to pack.
