Running through the forest at full speed, I felt like a hawk soaring through the sky- strong and free.
I love coming out here, I love the freedom and peace of being able to run wild.
Camp jahas rules and regulations forbid us to enter the apparently dark and dangerous wilderness but I always get out. They warn us of grounders that lurk behind trees and run in the shadows, but we haven't been attacked in over 16 years and I don't think we will anytime soon. That's what Bellamy tells me anyway and also my mother and father, it's what they say at the end of the story they recite to me. A story about a girl with golden blonde hair and a fierce determination, a girl who helped bring us peace with the grounders and destroyed the mountain that threatens to eradicate us.
The girl who I have been told lives on in me.
