A/N: I decided to give each chapter a "theme song" so you can kinda get the mood of the chapter.
Theme Song: You and Me ~ LifehouseSue had returned, an annoyed look making a home on her face. "Ugh I can't believe some people," She snarled, looking around. I followed her gaze to see a familiar guy with a shaggy mess of red hair. "Cam!" I shout.
The guy turns, and when he spots me and Sue he grins and runs over. "Cam! It's been so long!" Sue smiled, giving him a hug. I grinned at them. Sure Cam had formed an alliance with Sue and I three camps ago, but I had a feeling that Sue felt more than just an alliance toward him.
A/N: When I think of Cam I think of Ed Sheeran...so that's what he looks like okay? Good.
After Cam and Sue hugged, he turned and looked at me. "What happened to you, Karev? Finally find someone who could beat you in a fight?" He joked, grinning widely. I rolled my eyes playfully and lightly hit his harm, which rested on the wheelchair's armrest. "No, still looking. I fell down the stairs," I explained, using the lie. Only I knew Cam would figure it out - he had a way of knowing whether or not I was lying. Sure enough, his eyes narrowed and one side of his mouth curved up, a look of disbelief and confusion. "No you didn't. What happened?" He asked, looking towards Sue.
Shooting me her own confused look, Sue shrugged. "That's what I was told."
Cam gave me that look once more, but I knew he wouldn't press further. He could tell I didn't want to explain. Sue and Cam began to talk about school, and that was a topic I was highly against, so I let my mind wander. Much to my luck, it wandered back to the guy who I spoke to a little bit ago.
What's his name? What's he like? Where is he?
I looked around, scanning everyone just in case I'd miss him in the crowd. "Looking for someone, Karev?" Cam asked, coming to stand next to me. "Um...no," I answered, still looking around. I didn't know exactly if Cam would know who I was talking about. I also didn't want his false assumptions of "you like him" or all those annoying things that friends say to bug the ever living crap out of you.
"Hahah okay Karev," Cam chuckled and left me alone. I was thankful for that, I needed to concentrate. Beginning to get frustrated, I looked over the room again. Where did he go!? I was ten thousand percent sure he was real and not a figment of my imagination, but where was he?
I suddenly got the feeling that I was being watched, I got that weird shiver that I usually get when my mom is stalking me from the kitchen. I whipped my head around toward Sue and Cam, who were talking to one of the counselors. Looking back, I knew it wasn't one of them that had watched me, so who had? Sighing, I turned my head to the left, and that's when I saw him.
He was leaning against the wall, reading something, but I looked at him a moment longer and then he looked up at me. I quickly looked away, the awkward moment of eye contact was something I did NOT need. I felt my face get red and I looked around as if I'd never looked in his direction at all.
Eventually I couldn't help but look at him again, and my eyes widened when I noticed he was looking at me too. Agh the struggle. I turned to Sue, hoping to get my mind off of him. "Sue let's get food, I'm starved," I said, my usual complaint dragging Sue out of her conversation.
"Wow Karev can you go any time at all without eating something!?" She laughed and walked with me to get food. "Uh...no," I answered, laughing back at her. We got our food and hid in our corner, watching the people around us. Cam sat with us and began scribbling words on a piece of paper. He was writing so fast he snapped his pencil, and he threw his head back, annoyed. "You okay Cam?" I asked, looking concerned.
