Dark clouds drifted overhead. We had buried my sister among the wild flowers in the prairie. I still remained where she was buried, I ignored my own wounds. I was too numb with grief, "Why StarClan... it should have been me."
Scourge's words echoed through my head, "What if it was Eve's life... Did my father know about her death?" My eyes glazed over and I remained silent. I could still see the fresh dirt that was clawed up to make her grave. It was covered with the prettiest flowers we could find. I had some time to myself as cats recovered from their injuries, "Selfish ThunderClan it's all your fault! Eve why didn't you let me avenge you I was so close."
My ear flickered and my head perked up, "What is Tigerpaw going to think of how I acted?"
I stood up and looked in the direction of the tree. I looked back at the grave, "I will be back sis," I whispered then started walking away. I don't think I saw her in the battle party and I was glad for that, "I can't lose her too," I muttered and picked up my pace.
There was a chilly breeze and the sun was hidden behind the dark clouds. It was going to storm soon so I would have to make my visit quick. "If she even is at the spot.." I sighed. The scent changed as I left my territory and went into the grounds that no cat owned. I trotted up to steep slope and peeked my head to look at the blossom tree. The blossoms were slowly starting to fall to the ground one by one. Among to storm of petals I saw Tigerpaw glancing around nervously, "Thank the stars she's alright."
I called out to her and her head perked up. She ran over to me and buried her face into my shoulder, "I'm so sorry Night I tried to stop them. Sandstar felt threatened when Sleetpaw and the others told them that we can Clans on all sides of us. He wanted to chase you our before you got to powerful but it was too late."
I licked her ear with a dull expression, "I know you tried, I'm just happy that you didn't have to fight my cats. My sister lost her life protecting LunarClan kits from Sleetpaw."
Tigerpaw gasped and stared at me with wide eyes, "I-I can't believe it! Nightmare not all of us are heartless like him I will rip his fur out when I see him!"
I licked her ear and let out a smile yet my heart still felt like it had been ripped out, "Thanks, I knew you were nothing like him, Tigerpaw."
She let out a purr then looked into my eyes, "Actually it's Tigerlily now, I got my warrior name earlier. It still amazes me that you are bigger then me now, yet I'm like two moons older then you!"
I smirked and put my paw on her head, "Yeah it is, age doesn't really matter though." Tigerlily buried her face into my chest and I stared at her shocked, "You ok?"
She nodded slightly, "I'm just happy you're alright." She deeply inhaled my scent then froze. I looked at her confused and nuzzled her ears with my muzzle, "Is something wrong?"
"You smell like Sandstar, and my father," she whispered.
I frowned, "I did fight a golden-brown tabby tom, he was hard to fight I will admit. When he saw where Sleetpaw was going he didn't pursue me when I ran," I admitted.
Her head was fully leaned on my chest, "Did he have black dots on his face?"
"Mhm..." I murmured.
"Yeah that's him, I hope you didn't hurt each other to much. Sandstar was foolish to pick a fight with you in the first place," Tigerlily growled in annoyance.
"Your father is a good an honorable warrior," I purred. All of my pain from my trauma had seemed to slowly melt away, "Were any of your warriors killed?"
"Well Sleetstorm will get killed when I get back, but other then that everyone seems fine. You guys really did a number on Sandstar, I've never seen him with scratches," she purred.
