Warriors: Echo of Darkness

Chapter 28

I let out a battle yowl and both sides threw themselves at each other. I pinned Sleetstorm to the ground, I could hear the thundering paws of ThunderClan as they rushed down the slope. We only had to be the under dogs for a few minutes, then we would surely win. 

Sleetstorm was going for a death bite, I slammed a claw down on his neck. He lashed at my face with his claws, only catching a little but of my cheek. I slammed a claw down on his neck, trying to break it or choke him. It was working until I was rammed off of him. 

It was Minty, the she-cat narrowed her green eyes, "You've ruined everything! You killed Axe!" 

Sleetstorm fell at her side, eyes gleaming. The tables have turned. Sleetstorm was strong enough to recover from one of my blows, and Minty was almost as fast as Enek. I could attack one without worrying about the other. 

"I have your back Nightmare, she's my problem. Go for their leader!" Snake hissed throwing himself at Minty. 

I nodded my thanks, then was soon tackled to the ground by Sleetstorm. He lost his footing and I dug my claws into his stomach then kicked him off with tremendous force. The tom with flying into the mass of fighting cats. 

I turned to help Snake, Minty was attacking him but he refused to attack back, "Minty! Quit acting crazy! You know I never meant for Axe to die!" 

"We were your pawns," Minty hissed digging her claws into his neck. I ran to help, but Snake motioned for me to move on. 

I had no choice but to leave him when I saw Tails being team on by three cats. Two were hauling him to the ground, each with a tail in their mouth, and the third was going for his neck. I lunged over him, attacking the third. Tails lashed out with his hind paws, clawing the other two in the eyes. 

I viciously clawed the one I pinned, sending him running away yowling. I looked back, but Tails had already taken care of them. I had never seen this side of the two-tailed tom, it took three cats to bring him down. 

Ranger bolted over to help Snake, who was surrounded by his former cats. Risu, Hare, Cinder, and Minty all circled him. He was trying to get them to stop fighting, but their eyes only revealed hatred.

"You thought blue eyed cats were so great, yet Axe died," Risu growled clawing his leg. 

Cinder raked her claws over his ears, "Oh, lets cut off his tail! It should make you more agile!" she mocked. 

"You only cut our tails to make us look like Patch! She's better off dead, she wouldn't want to see what a monster her son was!" Hare growled. 

Hearing the she-cat insult his mother, Snake shoved them all away at once and tackled Hare to the ground. He went for a kill bite, but stopped himself. He racked his claw down her side before shoving her into the other she-cats. 

I ran and tackled Minty to the ground, Ranger took on Cinder, Berry rushed to Snake's aid and attacked Risu.

The brown and white tabby was going for my eyes, I dodged it barely, "How pathetic, your milk scent is gone. You just pretended to be a queen so we wouldn't harm you!" I shoved a paw down harshly onto her shoulder, then dug my claws in. 

She wailed, I reluctantly let her up. I had witnessed her and her friends nearly rip Snake apart, but I decided to show mercy. She was bleeding heavily, she would remember this and hopefully stay clear of the Clans. 

Ranger had run off his two opponents. I scanned the fighting swarm for Sleetstorm, "I won't leave until you're dead."

We started to push them back when ThunderClan arrived. We were nearly at the Thunderpath, when a familiar noise made every cat freeze with fear. Riki ran to my side panting, "I.. got them... D-Did I just hear what I think I heard?"
