IF THERE ARE ANY NAMES THAT ARE WRONG PLEASE POINT THEM OUT!!!! I used this as a project for my English class and had to switch a few things such as names. I tried to catch all the mistakes but I might have missed them.

Why hello there, my lovely readers. I have edited this story completely, although, I cannot promise that there will not be any mistakes still. If there are, please kindly point them out or ignore them, I'll probably find them later:p Anyways here is the new and improved version of Dark Smile and Crimson eyes.

Hello new readers/old I have just updated the prologue with 2016 version mes writing. I will slowly work on the rest

Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it."

― Terry Pratchett, Reaper Man

Prologue:

It was dark and the air was suffocating. She was running from something she just didn't know what it was. She stopped running as the darkness seemed to shift and encompass her. That's when she saw it; an amorphous, somber shape of a tall man with long, inky raven hair. Hair that seemed to cascade down his angular face, making it sharper, more vicious. He looked up through hooded eyes at her. His gaze was menacing and she knew her life was in danger. Yet she felt drawn to him.

"Who are you?" She asked in a raspy voice.

"I'm the future you can look forward to," The figure boomed, his voice ringing inside her head.

Confused she stepped closer to the tall, shadowy figure. She squinted her eyes and reached a soft hand out to touch him, but was stopped by the figures strong grip. Now that she was up close she could see the figure more clearly. His face was pale and perfect, and his eyes were a deep cherry wine. He was beautiful, but his demeanor was cold and inhuman. Her blood ran cold as chills crawled their way up her spine. She was getting a bad feeling about this man. A feeling that usually meant you were about to die. RUN. She tried to escape his grasp but he only held on tighter. His hand was rough and dry, and she could feel the bones in her wrist begin to crack underneath him. Tears weld up at the corner of her hazel gray eyes.

"Why are you doing this?" she tried to yell, but no words came out.

Her wrist began to burn, along with her whole body; everything felt like it was on fire. The man bent down towards her ear and whispered,

"Because you are mine."

The man let go of her and straightened his posture. She took a few steps back, trying to get some distance between the two of them. She noticed a strange, black mark that curled its way across the inside of her wrist, ending at the base of her thumb.

"What did you do to me?"

"I just gave you a little present, Idris."

Idris knitted her brows.

"How do yo-"

She was cut off in the middle of her sentence when the man's mouth slowly opened. His teeth were perfectly white and straight, and his canines were sharpened to a fine point. Blood streamed out of his mouth as a lump formed in his throat.

'What the hell...'

The lump wormed its way up the man's throat, causing more blood to efflux from his mouth. A raven soaked in vermilion fluid shimmied its way out of the man's mouth, perching itself on his shoulder. The raven turned his head to look at Idris, piercing her soul with its relentless gaze. The bird opened its beak, cawing out four simple words.

"You're going to die.".

Blood started to pool from underneath the man's feet, and he began to laugh wickedly as more of it surrounded him. The scarlet liquid seemed to form a bubble around him, swirling continuously as if in a blender. The man made a small opening through the enormous sphere, peering up at Idris with eyes that screamed murder. The only thing she could see was a dark smirk before the crimson liquid exploded, filling the space around her in a sea of blood. Darkness seized her vision as her lungs inhaled the oozing liquid. She couldn't breathe. Her lungs started to burn, and her head felt heavy. Her pulse grew faint and it felt like needles were stabbing every crevice of her body.

'This is it...'

Waves of crimson crashed Idris to the solid ground. Bubbles escaped her mouth as she desperately searched for air. Black and white spots formed behind her eyelids, while moments of her life flashed through her mind. Even though, Idris was engulfed in a pool of thick, warm blood she felt chilled to the bone. Darkness seized Idris's vision.

'This is it' She thought as her heartbeat faded away.

Thump, thump, thump... Thump, thump... thump.
