"Hmm, no, I like the other way." I tell Justin, referring to one of the songs on my album.
"But it sounds better the other way." Justin says.
"No, I don't like that." I insist, rolling my eyes. "Keep it the other way."
"Fine." Justin finishes off the last part of the song, picking up his stuff to leave.
Sighing, I sit back down. I've been stuck on this one song for what seem like forever.
A knock on my door pulls me away from me failing thoughts. "Come in." I say, turning in my chair.
None other than a grinning Niall Horan comes in.
"Oh, hi." I smile, standing up to hug him.
"Oh my god, I'm so happy I met you first." Niall says, pulling away. "Louis has been babbling on about this girl he's dating. And I finally figured out that this was your room from all those notes you've been giving each other. Don't worry, I'm not a stalker or anything." He tells me quickly, smiling.
"It's okay." I laugh, sitting back down. "I've been wanting to meet you guys for a little while now. Louis talks about me?"
"God." Niall rolls his eyes. "He literally doesn't shut up about you."
"Really?" I blush, biting my lip.
"He never really told us directly who he was dating, but that's just the way Louis is. He likes to keep some things to himself. But I knew I'd meet you eventually. You're pretty cool."
"Thanks, Niall." I giggle, clutching my phone in my hand. "I don't wanna kick you out, but I was just about to leave."
"Oh, it's okay. We were leaving too but I snuck away for a minute." Niall stands to hug me again before leaving.
I shove my notebook inside my bag, ready to just get home and curl up under a blanket with pajamas on. But I find another note on my door. Smiling, I admire Louis' perfectly messy handwriting.
Movie night. Six.
Louis xoxoShaking my head, I throw the note in my bag. I pass the guys fooling around in the hallway on my way out. No eye contact. Don't make it obvious.
But I do give Louis a smile, to let him know that movie night is good. He just gives me a smirk in response. Blushing, I finally leave.
I change into fuzzy pants and an oversized sweatshirt. I take off all traces of makeup and tie my hair into a messy bun. Then I curl up under my duvet. I pull up Netflix on my laptop, a bowl of popcorn in front of me. Grease starts playing.
Soon enough, I feel Louis crawling into bed behind me. He wraps his arm around my waist, pulling me against his chest, pressing a kiss behind my ear.
"My favorite movie." Louis whispers, resting his hand on my hip, his thumb rubbing circles into my skin.
"I know, that's why I picked it." I say, looking over my shoulder at him. "Niall came to see me today. Just to say hi."
"Leave it to Niall." Louis chuckles.
"He quite, uh, interesting." I say politely.
"You'll think more then just interesting once you get to know him, trust me." Louis tells me, his lips brushing against my neck.
But we're pulled apart when my phone starts ringing. My mum. Shit.
"Um." I bite my lip nervously, sitting up.
"What? It's just your mum, love. Answer it." Louis insists, resting his chin on my shoulder.
"Okay, just- uh, be quiet." I say quickly, answering her call. "Hey mum."
"Hello, my darling daughter!" Mum says cheerfully. "How are you this fine night?"
"Actually, I'm kinda busy." I say, feeling Louis' hand lacing through mine. He presses a quick kiss to my temple.
"Oh, are you? Doing what?" Mum asks. She knows me too damn well. I don't respond. "That's what I thought. What are you really doing?"
"I'm just watching a movie in bed." I answer quietly. "With a friend." Louis gives me a look.
"Is this friend a boy?" I stay silent again. "Kylie." Mum says in a warning tone.
"Mum, seriously. Nothing is going on. If you must know, we are both fully clothed and just watching Grease. And besides, I'm twenty. I can do whatever I want with whoever I want."
Maybe I shouldn't be having this conversation with Louis right next to me. By his expressions, he can probably hear what my mum is saying.
"I know that, love. I just don't like you with boys."
"Mum, stop it."
"Just be careful, alright? And if you start dating anyone, I need to approve first."
Well, that's fucked.
"Yep, sure. I gotta go, mum. Bye." I hang up, throwing my phone aside. I bury my face in my hands, my knees pulled up to my chest, my body completely away from Louis' grasp. "I'm sorry about that." I mumble.
"You're mum doesn't know you're dating me?" Louis asks quietly.
"I haven't told anyone. My family is very, um, protective of each other." I tell him vaguely. "My mum doesn't like it when I date, but she's just looking out for me. I promise I'll tell her soon."
"Love, stop stressing." Louis pulls me onto his lap. "It's completely okay."
"Are you sure?" I ask, looking up at him.
"Positive. Now, let's stop worrying about that Summer Nights is my favorite song."
