One month later

A sigh escapes my lips as I wake up in the morning. Another beautiful morning in New York City.

"Wake up!" My New York best friend, Jamie, shouts.

"How did you get in?" I laugh, sitting up.

"You told me to remind you that you've got a meeting at the studio in an hour. So get ready." Jamie says, shoving my shoulder.

I jump out of bed and into the shower. I quickly change into comfy clothes for the day.

As I look in the mirror, I get sad. Adidas makes me think of Louis. Louis loves Adidas.

Louis.

Louis.

Louis.

I haven't talked to him at all since we broke up. I need my space from him, that's what I said. So I moved to New York City for the time being. But the only thing that's been on my mind all month is Louis.

You'd think that suffering heartbreak would be good inspiration for songs. How about no. I haven't written a single word about Louis and our breakup. Whenever I try, I wind up bursting into tears for hours upon hours.

"Girl, you need to stop thinking about Louis. You're over. You've broken up. You need to find a new guy." Jamie insists.

"How many times do I need to tell you?" I murmur, grabbing my phone. "We broke up, but I promised him that we'd get back together in a few months."

"Whatever you say."

I head over to the studio for my meeting. I sit down across from my management team and my manager, Amanda.

"We need you to release a single." Amanda says. "But clearly, that's hard because you haven't recorded or written a single song since the last album."

I think for a second, biting my lip. There is one song I've had written for quite song time now.

"I've got a song." I mumble, my heart beating. "I've had it written for a long time now. I'm sure of you give me a couple days, I could have a song recorded."

"Alright, get started."
