1000 Years

~Chapter 10~

Tonight is the night of the Blue moon festival. We know who will be there and we know who to look for. I put on my black dress that flares out a little at the bottom, and my flats. Eli walks up behind me and says," hey beautiful." I smile and say," hey handsome." He smiles and asks," are you ready?" I nod and we head out to the festival.

Eli held my hand the whole time and wouldn't let go of it. "Look who is being clingy now." Eli glares at me and says," I am trying to pro-" I kiss him and say," I know." He gives me a nervous smile and grips my hand tighter which, I know means Steven is here. I stiffen as Steven runs his fingers along my neck. I flinch and Eli glares at him.

The festival begins and I stay as close to Eli as I could be. I really did not want  to come, but mom is making me. I have had random people come up to me saying how I look like my dad. And the scary thing is, I am turning 18 in human years at midnight. Eli and I both look at the clock, only ten more minutes until I become a complete Vampire I guess you could say.

Mom and Robert walks up to the stage thing and say," alright this festival is to honor the Vampire princess turning 1800. We would like to pull her up on stage. Amber Greene." What? I have rad so many books based off of this Vampire princess, but I am the what?

I walk on stage, my mother gives me a warm smile, I give her a hug and then I give Robert a hug. I look out to the crowd to see Steven and his pack of dogs watching me. Steven must want these powers. The ceremony got really boring so I zone out. When they declared me as a Vampire princess or whatever, I got off the stage and ran out to Eli.

I hear," lets join the princess and her mate in a dance." What? Ugh. Eli smiles and takes me hand, we dance to the song, that's when I felt infinite. I smile and hum to the song that is playing. Eli leading me around the dance floor. The song ends, but Eli and I don't stop slow dancing, not even when a fast up beat song comes on.

We don't break eye contact, we stop dancing, Eli pulls me closer. He whispers," so princess, how does it feel to finally be a Vampire." I laugh and say," wow Eli nice way to be romantic." He laughs and says," yeah I know, I am so romantic." I roll my eyes and say," well now that I know what Steven was wanting I know how to destroy him before he gets near me."

Eli says," that's my girl." I roll my eyes and playfully shove him away. He smiles and grabs me by my waist and says," happy birthday baby." I smile and hug him, sometimes I wonder why there is so much drama in my life, but then there's this really good side of life where I have Eli. He is perfect, his smile, the way he makes jokes, and the way he protects me.

Once all of this is over, I hope we go back to normal. The ceremony soon ends, Eli and I go up to my room, where we sit and listen to Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls. "And I don't want the world to see me, 'Cause I don't think they will understand how everything is meant to be broken, I just want you to know who I am." Eli smiles at me and I smile back, until I hear my Uncle scream," DON'T BE MAKING BABIES IN THERE." My face goes red, Eli say," WE'RE NOT." Uncle Thomas says," GOOD I AM NOT READY TO BE AN UNCLE." I laugh and say," YOU ALREADY ARE." "OH YEAH." I laugh and so does Eli.

Eli says," how about I take you out on a date tomorrow, out in the woods." I ask," isn't that risky?" He shakes his head and says," not if I am there, and there is other Vamps watching over us." I smile and say," alright, but I am not dressing nice." He chuckles and says," I didn't want you to." I smile and Tate walks in. "I can't sleep," Tate whispers. I smile and say," come here you can sleep in my bed tonight." He runs over to me, I put him in my bed and lightly sing," Well I've heard there was a secret chord,
that David played and it pleased the Lord, but you don't really care for music, do you? Well it goes like this, the fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift, the baffled king composing Hallelujah.."

Tate falls asleep and I smile, Eli looks at me and says," I can't wait to make you my wife." I look at him with wide eyes. I haven't even thought of marriage. He smiles and says," we have the certificates, but we need an actual wedding I think." I smile and nod, I have always wanted a wedding, but mother told me that Vampires never had weddings, so maybe I am different.

One thing still bothers me though," did you know I was the "Vampire Princess"?" He smiles and nods," I could tell you was from the moment I met you." I ask," so why didn't you tell me?" "Because I wanted you to find it out yourself." I nod and wonder who my father was in order for me to be a princess." A leader.""What?" Eli says," your father was a leader. Sorry, I can read minds." That makes sense," How well did you know my father?" He says," I didn't know him very well, I was only 7 when he died, Princess." " Well uh.. what do you know of my father?" "I know he was a leader of the clan, I also know that he was a warrior, and he was a protector." I nod, he hesitates and says," and that night you uhm.. you saw him die." He looks at me for approval, I nod. "The two grown men you seen, they worked for Steven."

My blood boiled and my heart turned to ice. "WHAT?" "Calm down." "NO HE KILLED MY FATHER." Before I could even comprehend anything, my feet was racing and I was on my way to the packs house. I don't care if they want to kill me. I know Eli was following me, possibly with a few other Vampires.

I run right inside that Castle that the Packs own, I march straight up to Steven and I scream," HOW COULD YOU KILL MY FATHER?" He says," Sweetie I was trying to protect my pack." "By Having my father killed?" "I thought once I got rid of him I could have you all to myself my dear." I glare at him as he stands up and walks closer to me," that was until I heard that you found your mate, but you were suppose to be my mate." "Why so you can keep me as a slave while you enjoy yourself." "Yes, but I wanted more than that, I want to be the leader, the position your dad had."

"You will never be like my father, never." "I wouldn't say that dear." "I would." As soon as those words left my mouth, Eli, Robert, Draven, and Miles was standing around me. Steven whistles, then about five wolves stand in front of him protecting him. "Princess I didn't want this to happen, but you leave me with no choice." I knew what that meant. I look over at Eli who is pointing to his ankle. What did he sprain it running over here? He shakes his head, then what. I hear him barely whisper," knife." Knife? Oh knife. I nod and say," fine, take me as your mate, keep me as your slave, but let them go." He smiles and says," good." I walk up to him and he wraps an arm around my waist talking about something, but I was too focused on getting the knife out of my boot.

Yes, I've kept a knife in my boot for as long as I can remember. I get in out, as he begins you turn me so I am in front of him, I cut his throat. His head rolls down the stairs and stops in front of Eli. He smiles at me and says," you did it." I nod and say," I know." He rolls his eyes and hugs me. Stevens pack members stare at us. One werewolf says," you killed him." I say," I evened the odds, he kills my father I kill him." The wolf says," no I understand he was a terrible leader anyways." I laugh and say," well thanks for being honest." He smiles, I say," okay we have go to go." Eli and I leave hand in hand. We all decide to walk back. Miles says," like father like daughter." I smile, Eli says," yeah, but now I have to watch out." We all laugh and finally get back to the clan's house.
