Chapter 30: Learning of the situation

Silver Dragon, rooftop

James's group found themselves on the rooftop of a restaurant in the middle of the city.

"So this is Heatherfield?" asked James.

"Yep and we just so happen to be on top of my family's restaurant" said Hay Lin.

Will held up the heart of Candracar and reverts herself and the guardians to their normal states.

"Looking at us now, you probably wouldn't believe that we were magical beings, huh?" said Will.

"Actually, I can" said James quietly with a smile.

It was then the door to the roof opened, revealing an old woman in a dark green kimono.

"Hay Lin I thought I heard.....oh, seems we've got guests. Well come on down, we'll talk after we eat yes" said the old woman.

James's group were seated at joint tables eating some Chinese cooking, James offered to pay but Yan Lin waved her off saying it was on the house considering their unexpected drop in Meridian. Amazingly, none of the guardians or Yan Lin could see the pixies. The guardians were currently with Yan Lin in the basement filling her in on what happened. Soon a letter magically appeared before them, Yan Lin took it and read it. It was from Elyon and it said that her ability to teleport anything to earth has been extremely limited. It seems that she could now only teleport items or people to heatherfield or Meridian and nowhere else. She doesn't know what was the cause of it and it slowly spread like a virus which now limited her powers of teleportation.

"It seems Elyon was truly unable to transport them back" said Yan Lin.

"Yeah grandmother and she doesn't understand why either" said Hay Lin.

"This is really odd, Elyon tapped into her power so tele-transporting anywhere on earth shouldn't be a problem" said Yan Lin.

"You don't think SHE'S behind this do you?" asked Will.

Soon everyone's expression darkened as they thought about Nerissa.

"But that really doesn't make any sense Will, why would Nerissa care about a bunch of people who aren't even from this area?" asked Taranee.

"Her sick and twisted nature?" said Irma.

"Besides the obvious" said Cornelia.

"It is possible but I don't think it is likely" said Yan Lin.

"I have to agree with grandmother here. It would take an even higher power to seriously limit the choices of tele-transporting like that. Something more powerful than Nerissa and Elyon" said Hay Lin.

"But who?" asked Will.

"That would be the million dollar question wouldn't it?" said Irma.

"I also don't think them being dropped in Meridian was an accident. When I was near them, I could sense a power within all of them. Two of those girls held a power that could dwarf the power of the hearts combined" said Yan Lin.

"Seriously!!? More powerful than the hearts of Candracar and Meridian combined!!?" said Will in shock.

"Indeed, I don't think they're just tourists but I don't think they're enemies either" said Yan Lin.

"You can bet should Nerissa find out about this, she'll hunt them down to sate her hunger for power" said Cornelia.

"Nerissa with power stronger than the hearts combined. That is a very scary thought" said Irma.

"Stop! I don't even want to think about that" said Cornelia.

"Then its important we get them back home as soon as possible. In the meantime we'll have to keep them hidden here in Heatherfield, they're not safe on Meridian" said Will.
