Chapter 31: Meeting your match

Meridian

Once everyone had passed through, they wound up in a battlefield. There were a hundred annihilators marching through the town below the castle, destroying everything in their path. The guards were helpless against the eight foot juggernauts.

"No, they're already in the town" said Cornelia.

"Quickly, we've got to take them out" said Will.

Soon Matt approached the guardians.

"Boy am I glad to see you, we are really getting stomped here. Been doing my best holding them off long enough for you to arrive" said Matt.

"Don't worry, we'll handle them. If you'd like to assist you may, we'll need all the help we can get with this number" said Will.

Matt nodded and transformed into his Shagon form and took flight. Caleb took out his sword while Mr Huggles turned into his beast form.

The guardians used the same strategy as last time. Irma, Taranee, Cornelia and Hay Lin used their powers to force the annihilators together so Will could finish them with her quintessence lightning.

"Take this, quintessence!!" said Will.

Will charged up and fired a bolt of lightning at the annihilators causing them to crumble to dust.

"Yes, you got them" said Hay Lin.

"Don't celebrate just yet, there's still many more of them" said Cornelia.

Just as the girls raced towards the other annihilators, something caught Caleb's eye.

"Umm girls, you might want to look behind you" said Caleb.

To everyone's horror, the annihilators that Will destroyed regenerated.

"This can't be right, shouldn't Will's lightning kept those things as pebbles!?" said Irma in shock.

Matt blasted one annihilator with his eye beams but it soon regenerated. Caleb had no more luck than they did as his weapon couldn't penetrate the monsters made of stone.

"Nothing's working" said Matt.

Soon he got smacked by annihilator into the wall with a big crack.

"Matt!!" yelled Will.

Somewhere in Meridian

Nerissa wore a devious grin as she saw everything though the viewing orb. Her upgraded annihilators were wiping the floor with the guardians and making short work of everyone else that stood before them. Not even Elyon could stop them and once she's dead, she'll do the same to Phobos. Thus ending the family line once and for all and then the heart of Meridian will be up for grabs.

"Yes....yes its only a matter of time. Soon the power I rightfully deserve will be mine again, they cannot stop my new annihilators. No power on Earth, Candracar or Meridian can stop them" said Nerissa.

Planes of Infinity

"Maybe someone from 'Earth, Candracar or Meridian' can't stop them" said the first figure.

"But what about someone from Magix" said the second figure.

Meridian

The guardians and their allies were slowly being forced back into a corner. Even when Elyon showed up to join the fight, the annihilators just kept regenerating.

"This is no good, we can't hold them back" said Caleb.

"I may as well be hitting them with moss, there's got to be something we can do" said Cornelia.
