Chapter 27: James's choice

Two days later

The seven girls were currently watching "Robson Green extreme fishing" admiring the fish that were caught. There was something James had on her mind.

"Just one more day before I can change back" said James.

"Come on James, you have to admit it wasn't so bad" said Aisha.

"Easy for all of you to say, you don't have the ability to change genders like I do. How would you like it if you all turned into guys instead?" asked James.

"Thanks for the nightmares" said Stella.

"My point exactly, I'm just lucky that I have you girls to support me all the way. Otherwise I would be in lots of trouble" said James.

"Anyways I have to go do the shopping list for Vanessa, we ran out of a lot of stuff" said Bloom.

"With the amount of people here I'm not surprised, I think I'll join you. I need to stretch my legs and I need to get myself some supplies as well" said James.

"Sure, I could use the company" said Bloom.

Soon James and Bloom left for the grocery store.

Grocery store

"Lets see the final item we need is carrots" said Bloom.

"I take it was Kiko's fault why we ran out of carrots?" asked James jokingly.

"Yup, you got him. Also it's three more days till Christmas day right so why don't we try looking for something while we still can?" asked Bloom.

Bloom didn't hear a response so she turned to find James missing. Looking to her right she saw James looking at nail polish and mascara.

"James come on, we don't have time for that" said Bloom pulling on her sister currently.

"Sorry, can't help it though. Its like I was drawn to it and now that I think about it. Its giving me shivers, this thinking like a girl thing is really making an impact on who I am. Oh Bloom, what's happening to me" said James worryingly.

"Don't worry I will be there with you every step of the way. Speaking about thinking like a girl, you might want to take a look behind you" said Bloom.

Looking behind her James saw from her precise count, 35 boys following her. Walking faster didn't help and to make it worse, James's heart was pounding fast when she saw them and she had hearts in her eyes. James had to shake her head furiously to remember who she really was.

Finally reaching the counter James sighed a relief.

"They can't just be after me I'm sure they're after you as well Bloom" said James.

"I think you might be right, we better make a sprint once we pay up" said Bloom.

Soon James and Bloom made a dash for it and were able to make it back home safely.

"Whoa whoa, you two look like you were trying to get away from something" said Stella.

"That's because we were. Love-struck boys chasing us and we were lucky that we lost them. Plus I slowed us down a little every time I see something I'm usually not interested in since I'm a guy" said James.

"Seems like your hidden girl personality is starting to show itself" said Tecna.

"I don't like it, I'm frightened. What if this really changes who I am, recently I had this craving to go lingerie shopping, get a new wardrobe and make up. I don't want to end up as somebody I'm not" said James.

"From my scan you only have one more day then it will all be over. Besides what if this was a part of who you really are and it can help you?" asked Tecna.

"I don't get how that's supposed to make sense" said James.

"I mean without your girl side you wouldn't be a fairy. You wouldn't have access to your newfound abilities that only your girl side has. It made you so much stronger, look at your magic blasts and enhanced strength and think about it. You wouldn't be able to understand us girls or experience what we go through if you didn't have this ability. Thanks to you also being a guy, you are able to view girls in a whole new light and convince those who think otherwise about us" said Tecna.

"That's.....one way of looking at it I suppose. Though its hard, I hope I can adapt to it while maintaining my personality and sanity at the same time" said James.

The winx then huddled around James and gave her a hug.

"We'd still accept you either way, boy or girl won't matter to us. But you would lose your new abilities if you did find a cure which means you wouldn't be a fairy anymore and you wouldn't be able stay at alfea any longer. Thank you for what you've done and your commitment to this team" said Bloom.

The other girls agreed.

"But wait, headmistress Faragonda did say she offered you a place there so couldn't you have stayed?" asked Flora.

"True but I actually turned down the offer. I originally wanted to live at red fountain but as you can see, fate had other plans. In a way it was a good thing, i get to be by my sister's side once again so it makes changing into a girl worthwhile. As a bonus, i get to be a fairy. Sure i may hate the idea of obtaining too much power but even i have to admit, when was it ever a bad thing" said James.

"Girls, dinner is ready" said Vanessa.

"Thanks mom, well we better get going" said Bloom.

Soon the winx headed straight for the table but James walked slowly.

"Sure i may not like turning into a girl randomly but if i get to be with Bloom and her wonderful friends because of it, then i say its well worth it and i can say this without any uncertainty now. I AM proud to be a girl and a fairy, any guy that messes with my girls, messes with me" thought James.

End of the chapter and sorry of it was short, I had a lot on my plate and this was what I could put up. The other chapters will be longer, that I promise you :)
