Chapter 21: Events in motion

Juban shopping district

James was being dragged around the mall by Bloom, Stella and Flora. The group had split up to cover more grounds and watch out for any strange occurrences. It was Stella's idea to check out the shopping mall but her companions could tell she had an ulterior motive.

"Wow this place is huge" said Stella.

"Remember Stella we are here to patrol not shop" said Bloom.

"I'm just trying to blend in with the crowd here, we're shoppers so we may as well look and act like it" said Stella.

"You may have a point but don't lose sight of your objective" said Flora.

James could only sigh, girls could be really crazy in malls. Despite that they're still good company and he was soon smiling after seeing the girls giddiness. It was then something caught his attention.

"Hey girls, look over there" said James pointing to his left.

Bloom, Stella and Flora stopped and turned to where James was facing. They saw a certain group of girls walking towards a hair salon.

"Are those, the girls we saw last night?" asked Bloom.

"They have to be, there's just no mistaking the hairstyles and faces especially the one with odangos. That particular hairstyle is too unique to copy" said James.

"So what do we do now? We can't just approach them out of the blue like that, it would be weird for them and us" said Flora.

"And you're right about that Flora, it would be awkward. We should probably stick around, something tells me things are about to get interesting" said James.

Unfortunately it did, something had crashed through the large skylight. People started screaming and dove for cover as broken shards of glass rained down. It was at that moment when three monsters landed in the middle of the main plaza.

"Let's blow those puny humans into submission"

The one in the middle began shooting out mini tornados, people screamed as they got caught and sent flying into the air and splatted outside. This monster seems to be made completely out of spinning winds.

"Let's round up the escapees, they shall serve as the feast for our master"

Grosne was made out of ice and Fredrica was a living shadow. Grosne froze all escape routes while Fredrica blocked the doors with darkness in which anything passing through it will be trapped in a dark void.

"Now to prevent those poor souls from escaping"

Together all three monsters punched the ground and it caused a crack to appear and it effectively trapped the people.

"Hear us puny humans!! We are the commanding officers of the almighty Darkness, emperor of the chaos dimension and future ruler of the universe. Your world is but a stepping stone to that goal, so you should all feel honored that you've been chosen to sate our master's hunger. I, Ligan claim you all for our master!!" said Ligan.

"Hey!! What's the big idea claiming them as your own, we did just as much work. I Grosne claim these humans for my master" said Grosne.

"Hold on!! I Fredrica shall claim these poor souls for the master" said Fredrica.

"You two stay out of this" said Ligan.

As the three monsters argued amongst themselves, James, Bloom, Stella and Flora had ducked into a nearby maintenance room. They had managed to avoid being captured by the crowds and were peeking out from behind the door.
