Chapter 27

I stared at his hand debating weather or not I should go with him." Whatever." I said after my breath and waved his hand away and stood up. He stared at me and I stared back." Let's go before I change my mind." It was when we were outside when he pulled me into his arms. I yelped in surprise. His embrace send shivers down my spine and spirals of warmth around my body. I fought the urge not to melt into him. I pushed myself off his chest and stepped back. I cleared my throat and adjust my bag strap.

"For the tenth time, Levine. Don't. Touch me," I said harshly. He stared at me with hurt spread across his face. My heart softened. Stay strong Merlayla. He nod towards an underground lot and I followed behind to his car.

We sat in the car in silence." Merlayla--"

"Don't. Just don't, tell me what I need to know so I can leave."

"Why are you acting like this?" He turns to me.

"What do you think?" I gritted though my teeth.

"Well you need to calm the fuck down because seeing you this angry is a fucking turn on," he said finally sounding like himself, his statement made my heart jump," so you can continue you being mad because I'm going to continue to push your buttons until you explode then I'm going to going to take you--"

"You're so full of shit, you wouldn't dare." I dare say. He blinked at me with a smirk spread in his face like wildfire.

He chuckled." Really babe--unless you actually want me to....right here and now in this car." He said with his hand on my lap. I wanted to push it off but couldn't. I actually wanted him to. I swallowed a lump.

"In this car?" I asked softly.

"Yes." I bite my lip and he groaned. I closed my eyes and imagined the things he could do to me right now. I flushed. When I opened my eyes he was leaning in, his lips brushed mine. I cupped his cheek and kissed him. He pulled me onto his lap.

I rest my head on his shoulder trying to calm my racing heart. His arms tighten around my waist." How was that?" He whispered between pants.

"Amazing." We grew silent. He stoked my back and tingles followed his finger.

"I love you." My heart stopped. I swear it did, I sit up to look at him. He met my gaze.

"What?"

"I love you, Merlayla Lake," he says," deny me all you want, be angry at me for something I didn't do but I'm going to love the shit out of you until you love me back. I'm done running from this, I'm done I lost you once I won't loose you again."

"Alejandro, I need to kn--"

"I know and I'm going to tell you everything when we get off the plane."

"Plane? Where are we going?"

"Canada. There's something I need you to see." He says. He interlocked our fingers." Will you come with me?" I nodded.

He smiled. I smiled back. We went to my house and got a few things before we went to the airport."

I stood outside of our hotel room watching the city of Toronto. The moon was full and made the city look so picturesque." The food is here," he announced as he wrapped his arms around me waist. His soft robe felt nice against my skin. We went inside and eat our steaks.

"So what's the plan?"

"We're going to catch a fleet to Alberta in the morning then we go on from there." He replied.

"Oh ok."

"You scared?" I shook my head. Honestly I am because I don't know what to expect when we get to Alberta. He give me a sad smile then leaned over a pecked my lips. I smiled. We ate our meals in comfortable silence. When we were done we laid in bed in each other's arms, our legs were laced together as well and our hands. He kissed my shoulder and held me tight.

"What will happen after I know everything?" He took a long ridged breath.

"I don't know but I'm hoping it'll be something good."

"Me too." I said. I turned around to face him. He kissed me long and hard then kissed my forehead. The driver to Jasper was beautiful. Jasper itself was beautiful. We pulled into a dirt road surrounded by trees like a canopy. The drive was at least twenty minutes long before a gorgeous house came into view. He opened my door and help my awestruck self out of the rental. Pine trees surrounded the house. The house has an a big, old cabin look to it with a modern twist like a big French windows, solar energy reflectors and porcelain surrounded by oak wood steps." It's beautiful." I smiled at him when I caught him staring at me. His gaze never wavered. He took my hand and pulled towards a path away beside the left of the house.

We walked a good ten minutes. He stops in front of a big oak tree. He glanced at me. He slowly let go of my hand then stuff them into his pockets. I moved closer to the tree and ran my fingers along the bark absentmindedly when I saw the lake glinting in the distance. I frown when I felt on something on the bark. I turned my attention back to the tree and step back. I gasped when I saw. A&M's place encrypted into the tree. He stepped side me and stared at it like he was reliving old memories." Life can knock some unexpected shit at you," he stated," for a long time I was in a very bad place. I abused drugs, alcohol and....I use to cut myself." He looked at me.

"When that changed when some psychopath running into them falling into my life." He says, looking at his hand and smiled." Then I realized that life is a bad as you let it be." He added." I use to be in therapy for about ten years but all that therapy couldn't fix the emptiness in my heart." I took his hand in mine to comfort him then he continued. He licked his lips. " A began seeing this crazy person more than I wanted to. She was damn right annoying. Popping up everywhere I go. I stated to let her in and I began feeling things I never did and that scared the shit out of me--"

"You fell in love with her." He nodded.

"Yes but I didn't know. I wasn't supposed be anywhere near her but I was so drawn to saw she sees the world and fascinated by how she wanted put others before herself." He slide his hand out of mine the took something out of his pocket and held it tight in his hands. He held his fist at his forehead and closed his eyes." I've said things I didn't mean and....did things I regret but the funny thing was that she was always there."

"What happened to her?"

His lips trembled and his eyes squeezed shut." An accident took her from me.....she wanted us to elope. I wasn't sure about eloping but all I knew is that I couldn't stand away from her run. We were having an argument when I lost control of the car." I covered my mouth with my hand. Oh my gosh. That must have been hard. He opened his hand and it revealed a small diamond ring." She brought this...the day before the accident." He looked into my eyes, his eyes were glossy. Damn my heart was aching.

I swallowed a lump." D-did she survive?"

He took my left and slide the ring on my ring finger. It fit perfectly. Oh my gosh. My vision flashed for a second and I loss my balance. He caught me. Oh my god." It was me, wasn't it?" I questioned with a tear escape my eyes.

"I lost you once and I'm sure as hell not going to loss you again. You're father can't keep us apart, I'm going to to let him."

"How do I not remember....I have amnesia, am I correct?"

"Retrograde amnesia, yes." I chewed on my bottom lip. This is all so much to process." Do you want time away from me to process this before I tell you anything else?"

I shook my head." I want to know everything including things about the man that made me want to elope."

"Everything?"

"Everything."
