'The day I, first met you, you told me that you never fall in love'
Give your heart a break - Demi Lovato

As I used all my arm power which was close to nothing, I somehow managed to boost myself onto the ledge of the roof and came tumbling down the other side. I should have brought a torch with me, I thought as I brushed dust off of my night clothes, and I should have changed as well. I was standing in a long sleeved stripy shirt and had checkered Pyjama shorts and had carelessly draped my silky soft pink robe around my shoulders. Feeling the chill of the night, I snuggled into the robe that had a faint scent of roses and took slow steps towards the undisturbed person sitting on our roof and admiring the night full of stars. Judging by the posture and figure, you could definitely agree that it was a man, great, now I really regretted my choice of clothing. Thankfully, he didn't notice me yet and I quietly tiptoed towards him.

"About time you arrived" he spoke without sparing me a glance. He had a deep, velvety voice that sounded like music to my ears. Wow, I don't even know this man and I'm already crushing on his voice.
"I must say, you were very loud and that little fall was quite amusing" he spoke again when I didn't reply.
"You saw that?" I asked because he didn't turn his head once to see who was behind him. The silence answered my question and I opened my mouth again, my sass laced into my comment "well it's not everyday that you see a random stranger sitting on your roof"
"Touché, but it's not everyday you talk to a random stranger you see on your roof" he replied.
I merely shrugged before sitting down next to him and pulling my knees to my chest, the curiosity to see his face was killing me, instead I joined him in staring up at the stars.
"Such a beautiful night" I muttered and he hummed in response. We staying like that in the comfortable silence, studying each of the brightly shining stars dotted against the dark sky.
After conjuring up all the courage, I turned my face to get a good look at him and a gasp almost escaped my lips. He was the definition behind hot, I mean if you searched the dictionary for the definition, you would see his handsome face smiling at you. Even in the dark you could make out his face shape with a strong defined jaw and eyes that strangely glowed and were full of life and joy.
"You're staring" he stated which made a blush tint my cheeks a light pink.
"You are too" I bit back, realising we had been checking each other out for a full minute
"Not as weirdly as you though"
"Why would you be staring at how weird I was staring at you" I said in a frustrated manner but you could detect the playfulness on my voice.
"Anywho, what is a girl like you doing out her in the middle of the night?"
"What do you mean a girl like me?" I squinted my eyes and gave him an accusing look.
"You don't seem as the brave kind to climb a ladder to a roof that it thousands of feet above the ground"
"I wouldn't be here if I was of that kind"
"You talk weirdly" he stated.
"You are weird"
"How?" He gave me a questioning look.
"You don't seem as the kind to sit on roofs of random people's apartments just to watch the stars, that's what telescopes are for"
"I wouldn't be here if I was of that kind" he repeated the words I said to him and smirked as I scowled.
"You're annoying, did you know that?"
"Nope"
"Well now you do"
"Is there any reason you're telling me this?" He asked.
Rolling my eyes I said "by the way, how did you get on the roof? I mean I think I would have noticed if someone use the ladder just above my window" I asked curiously. He can't have just flown onto my roof.
He just tapped the side of his nose and smiled at the scenery sprawled out before us.
"What are you doing here in the first place?" I asked.
"You sure do ask a lot of questions" he chuckled, his sweet laugh filling my ears and brought a smile to my face.
"So I've been told"
"So now it's my turn" he said with an unnerving smirk.
"Um..." I nervously stuttered.
"Why did you come here?"
"Because I wanted to" I replied confidently.
"And why is that?"
"I was curious"
"Curiosity killed the cat"
"The cat has nine lives"
"8" he said.
"How so?" I asked confusedly.
"You made a big mistake even talking to me"
"And why is that?"
He ran his hand through his hair "because I'm dangerous"
"This roof is dangerous, didn't stop me from climbing on to it"
"But you don't understand, I'm far worse than anything"
"Oh yeah and please explain how"
"For one, I don't show the slightest affection towards anything or anyone"
"We can change that" where this new confidence came from baffled me.
"Not possible,mI don't believe in love" does he not love his parents? Or does he have any siblings or a girlfriend?
"That's because you haven't seen nothing yet"
"And why would I do that?"
"Because you don't realise how amazing it is"
"You know what else is amazing, I've made it this far without relying on anyone"
"Why?" I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
"Because trust is given away too easily"
"Don't you trust yourself to make the correct decisions?"
"I can't trust myself because I'll always end up trusting my heart instead of my mind"
"But that's good, isn't your heart supposed to lead you the right way" I asked confusedly.
"Not mine, mine is pure evil"
"How? You are actually pretty sweet" I exposed the truth, I somehow managed to enjoy his company as weird as it sounds.
"You would think that because you haven't seen the things I do"
"Things like what?"
He chuckled humorously and a dark look swept across his handsome features "you don't know me so stop pretending like you do. I can snap your neck in half in less than a second"
"If you could why haven't you?" I challenged him. No Wendy, you're walking on thin ice now, stop encouraging him and shut that big mouth of yours before you do something that you will regret. My conscience scolded me.
He chuckled again "I must go now, nice talking to you" he said and walked to the edge of the roof until he was dangerously close to his fall of death.
"Stop, get back whatever-your-name-is" I scurried to his position, tugging on his arm to pull him to the safety of the roof, well, the roof isn't that safe to begin with.
Since he was as tall as a giant to me which is saying something since I'm tall enough, he looked down on me with confusion etched on his face and we stared at each other, exchanging our souls.
"Peter"
"Huh?" I asked in a dumbly, snapping out of my trance I fell in as soon as I stared into his glowing green eyes.
"I'm Peter. Peter Pan"
"Wendy. Wendy Darling" I nodded my head curtly at him and retreated back to my room. But not before I sneaked a glance behind me and was struck by confusion as I failed to see him where he once was mere seconds ago. I'm not sure how he could have disappeared into thin air like that but I ignored the thought of him as it was slowly driving me insane from his peculiar character and dashing looks.
Quickly, I took careful steps down the ladder until I reach the bottom and took a step onto my window ledge and fell into my room with a loud thud. Ouch. My eyes flickered to the alarm clock with red digits reading 2:32am. Holy... My thoughts were cut off as I heard large, heavy steps trekking up the stairs belonging to my Father who probably was woken up by the loud noise in the middle of the night and wanted to investigate it.

In record time, I slid under my cool covers and closed my eyes so I could fool him that I was asleep. I even tried to make my breathing deep and steady as I heard my door slowly creak open.
A sigh followed and my heart stopped for a second as I thought I had been caught sneaking out but almost sighed in relief when my dad walked to the opposite corner of my room to shut the window I had accidentally left open. Then I heard steps as my Father got closer to my bed and gave a quick peck on the forehead.
"I'm sorry sweetheart" his soft voice whispered. What was he sorry for? Did he do something? Or is he just sorry about the past few fights?
After releasing another sigh he exited my room which gave me a chance to give a loud sigh of relief. The struggle is just too real!

Thoughts of me and Peter's brief conversation swirled in my mind, making it almost impossible for me to sleep; I kept stirring in my bed and flipped over my pillow numerous times to feel the cool surface against my head. Snuggling into my pillow, I pushed away the troublesome thoughts and managed to settle down and finally fall into a dreamless sleep.
