'Somethin' 'bout you makes me feel like a dangerous woman.
Somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout you
Makes me wanna do things that I shouldn't'Dangerous Woman - Ariana Grande
"Not for long, you will soon understand either the easy or hard way" Sending daggers his way, I realized my ankle no longer hurt, I must have ran the pain off if that's possible.
"What do you mean by that?" I gulped, my confident facade slowly wearing under the pressure.
"You'll see in time" He finally moved back, allowing me to breathe freely and my heart rate decreased back to its normal beat.
I followed Pan silently, glaring daggers at the back of his head; 100 thoughts on how to murder the cocky bastard in front of me flashed before my eyes which made me grin in a sinister manner. My eyes widened in realization as I remembered I still needed to get out of here. Wherever 'here' exactly was. An escape plan started forming in my mind but then it was weighed down with the chances of my success if Pan would be watching my every move like a hawk. I needed to mislead him but how?
"Ooof" A grunt escaped my lips as I realized Pan had stopped walking and due to me being occupied with my wild thought, I crashed into his back. "What did you stop for?" I asked warily,, trying to peek over his shoulder to see what was the reason he stopped for. We silently made our way to behind a curtain of loose vines hanging from the trees, a faint sound of gushing water filled the silence. With a swipe of his hand, Pan opened a slit between the vines, big enough to fit us to get through to the wonders of the other side. It didn't shock me how Pan was able to move things with simple hand gestures and no contact with anything because when I first came here, the first thing I noticed was the magic present and livening this place up with a jolly glow. Neverland had this strange vibe, this power that beat every one in the book.
I stepped through the narrow passage way and immediately, the scent of fresh rain water and grass wafted through my nose.
"What is this?" I asked watching Pan with uncertainty, removing a curtain of stray vines that were blocking my entrance."It's spring. These waters are rich with the power of Neverland." he informed me scooping a handful of water and watched it run freely through his fingers to rejoin with the water in the clear lake.
"It feels so magical" I said focusing on the jolt of indescribable adrenaline running through my veins. It was beyond anything I had ever felt before.
"It's magical and dangerous. Magic in Neverland comes with a price, this water can heal you"
"Have you ever been healed by this water?" I asked.
"Many times but have had to sacrifice something beloved each time"
"Why are you showing me this?" I asked.
"Not everything is as it seems Wendy, Neverland is dangerous. You don't know what is real or not, you don't know if you're being played or not, you don't know how to survive by yourself."
"If Neverland is so dangerous, why are you here?"
"Because I'm dangerous too. These boys have been through rough times and I have brought them here and they live under my order in Neverland. Then they are classified as my lost boys. I help them"
"And all these boys came willingly?"
"Despite their condition, yes they did"
"I don't believe that! Who would want to be your slaves working under your rules?"
"You say that as if it's a bad thing" he replied cockily, tempting me to wipe that smug smirk off of his face in a rather unpleasant manner.
"That's because it is. You're cruel and so damn cocky, Didn't think people would want to work for a jerk like you"
"You take that back Wendy Darling" he snarled, his whole demeanor chamged within seconds and it and it seemed that he was awfully bothered about the truthful insults I fired at him. There is more where those came from.
Unfortunately, he stepped towards me, trapping between him and the cave wall. Intimidated, I made no move and stay silent until he spoke again "Wendy, Wendy, Wendy, all you do is make empty threats, a few insults here and there and never seem to part with the sarcasm in your words." he stated as I glared harshly into his mystical orbs "Whereas I..."his finger stroked my cheek gently "teach proper lessons to those who deserve it and right now, I feel like-"
Pan was cut off abruptly by another voice "Pan! There you are! I've been looking for you all morning," Another boy revealed himself from the bushes and glanced at me for a split second before focusing all of his attention back on Pan. I think his name was Felix, Pan's first in command or something "We might have a little problem"
Pan excused himself from me and only then did I realize how much Pan was able to increase my heartbeat by. "Felix, send the new boy to take her back to camp" Pan said directing his statement at Felix who firmly nodded.
"Yes Peter"
