"Warm me up and breathe me, be my friend hold me"
Sia - Breathe me

One of the best ways to wake up, to even live life is by feeling safe and protected, as if nothing could ever harm you or your happiness and that's what I feel right now. A muscular arm is draped over my waist along with a leg locking both my legs together. This simple act made me feel safe for once, away from all the pains of the world, simply protected from any harm to even dare come.

I don't even know why I woke up and then I realised I was cold, goosebumps for me on the surface of my skin and before you get any nasty thoughts, I only have my shirt off from when I took it off yesterday. Actually the rest of the evening was spent with some passionate kissing and we just fell asleep together after that tiresome day.

Noticing my slight shivering that I tried hard to hide, Pan pulled me closer to his bare chest if that was even possible. The fire that was created from the contact of our bare skin together warmed me right up and I resumed to my sleep, hoping to get a few more hours before sunrise.

3 hours later

Bright Ray's of sunshine entered the room uninvited, waking me from my peaceful sleep. Sitting up in bed, I feel empty again as I notice he's not next to me but I do notice that the comforter's covering my body. A small smile makes it way onto my face but turns into a frown as I feel the start of a headache coming. Rubbing the remnants of my sleep from my eyes, I hop off the bed and think that the least I can do is make the bed so that's what I do. The pillows may not be in the correct position but it still looks good so I enter the bathroom to do my business.

I come out to see another outfit laid out in the bed, pretty similar to the one from yesterday but not the exact same, today I have a green sweater and an oversized cloak. I remember the lost boys wearing some big, dark cloaks on the first day I came here but didn't think I would be wearing the same thing. Heck, on the first day, I had my priorities straight with getting home as the first one but fate had a different path for me.

I left the treehouse and had a hunch on where everyone may be. I make my way to where the boys usually have breakfast but was surprised to find them not there. Where else would they go in the morning?

I try exploring the usual hangout areas but to no avail, strangely it seems quiet but not silent as you can still hear the birds chirping and the creatures lurking. Then I decide to search areas apart from the usual. That sounds like a good idea, it could be like exploring freely without any one on my back so I trek into the forest where all secrets lie.

Thousands of eyes are settled on me from the creatures in the woods that stop from their daily duties to observe me. Every now and then, there would be the sound of the bushes rustling which reminds me to keep on guard. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea but now it's too late to go back. I clearly underestimated the size of the woods and admit that I'm lost.. Everything looks the same and- a ripple of water, sounds from not so far away therefore I followed the melodic sound until I reached a clearing where only a layer of thick, leafy vines that blocked me and the mystery destination.

My arm reached out and wrapped around the plants and pushed them to the side but during the process, my elbow caught on another plant and a thorn dug into my arm. Ignoring the minor pain, I looked up to be astonished at the sight before me in all its glory. There is only one word to describe it and that's beautiful; a perfect scenery of a stream running along rocks sprouted into a mystical waterfall. The white water cascaded down a series of rocky outcrops, giving the effect of many waterfalls rather than just one. Then it flowed on its way, nonchalant, as if nothing had occurred.

I made my way closer towards the edge of the blue pool that formed from the flowing water, staring at my reflection that wavered that was varnish clear. But my image was overtaken by a figure : a mermaid. Tiny droplets of precious water landed on me that felt cool and refreshing against my skin.

Staring at the beutiful creatue, I study every detail of her and came to the obvious conclusion that she was perfection. With long, golden locks that stopped it's luscious flow just above her waist, and orange orbs of fire and long lashes surrounding them to prove her innocenence. But her eyes changed to the same blue as the water and sparkled in the morning sun.  I watched in amazement the way the water reflected off her flawless, pale skin and as she moved the way her her tale cut through the sea just long enough so that I could see the gorgeous green scales that covered it.

The almost deafening sound of water pounding against the rocks had slowly faded out and were drowned out by the harmonious sound of the unique creature's voice that resembled a lullabye. It worked wonders as it drove me closer to the edge that I was convinced that I was under a musical spell but was unable to tear my heart away from the songs that escaped her mouth. It truly was enchanting and the friendly atmosphere that surrounded the mermaid convinced me to take her floating hand.
"Come with me, child" This simple line persuaded me to make either the best decision in this scenario.

Soft yet cold hands linked with mine but before I was aware of the true intention of this mermaid, I had already succumbed into pure darkness under water. The mermaid dragged my body rapidly which was getting weaker by the second due to lack of oxygen. I let out the last puff of air that escaped as tiny bubbles before water invaded my lungs but I notice the chain-grip of the mermaid had been removed from my wrist, leaving my body to inch slower down until I made out a blur of darkness advance towards me. Something hard collided with my body and arms were wrapped around me tightly and pulled me up. Salty water blinded my eyes so I shut them tight but felt my body shut down a little more.

In just a couple of seconds, I was back in land where I could breathe but struggled to do so as A) My body was unresponsive and the instructions transmitted from my brain fell upon deaf muscles and B) my lungs and throat were filled with water which wouldn't leave like it should have.
"Wendy, just hold on" The voice was blurry and too far away but I could make out the words and were sorry to disppoint the person. The only thing I could do was let out my last breath and just hope.

Two warm fingers were placed on the side of my neck presumably checking for a pulse. It felt as if my body had been plugged out and this was the last plug pulled and I felt myself slipping into unconsciousness only to be brought back by ferocious pumping on my chest about 2 inches deep into my skin. This was slowly but surely bringing the water up out of my chest and soon a cough spurted some water. I choked on air and the remaining water to the point where I had a very sore throat and sit up.

My vision comes into focus and I'm surprised to see my knight in shining armour "Pan" my croaky voice whispered from the back of my dry and hoarse throat, studying his relieved expression. But that's the only thing I manage to do before falling backwards and I expected to feel my back collide with the sandy ground but feel two arms hold me just in time and lay me gently on the ground.
"no,No,NO! Wendy!" Are the last words I hear before black spouts cloud my vision until all I see is darkness.
