'Just gonna stand there and watch me burn. But that's alright, because I like the way it hurts'

Somehow a couple berries managed to fill me up and now I was following Pan silently through the forest. Hundreds of eyes belonging to the nature around us which hid in the bushes and trees were watching...waiting.
Suddenly, my foot wrapped around an open root of a tree causing me to fall down forward; I closed my eyes and waited for the solid impact of the ground. Strangely, I never got to feel the contact of the floor with my face so I opened my eyes to look around and noticed the strong arms holding me back from injuring myself. Slowly, Pan placed me on the floor and said "Careful"
"Thanks" I whispered trying to get my fast heartbeat to slow down back to its normal pace.
"No problem" he smirked as I took one step forward when I felt an excruciating pain go up the same ankle I almost tripped over with, luckily I managed to hold myself before I fell again and notified Pan of my injury but my grimace already gave that away.
"Are you hurt?" Pan asked in a concerned manner and rushed to my side.
"I'm fine" I gritted out, not wanting to face the embarrassment especially in front of Pan.
"You think I was born yesterday?"
"Shut up"
"I know you hurt your ankle"
"I don't know what you're talking about" I lied through my teeth.
"If your ankle isn't injured then I'm sure this won't hurt" he demonstrated by violently twisting my ankle to the side.
"Aagh!" I cried as I fell to the ground clutching my ankle.
"Are you still sure your ankle doesn't hurt?" he asked although we both knew my answer.
"You truly are an unpleasant creature" I snarled.
"So I've been told"
"But not enough times" I said.
He shrugged in reply before his entire stance transformed into a fighting one. Using his arm, he roughly pushed me against the tree and silenced me with his finger on his lips. Ignoring the sharp pain running up and down from my ankle, I wondered what the commotion that changed Pan's mood was about and strained my ears to hear anything other than the calls of the birds.
A couple of seconds later, I picked up the sound of someone rustling the bushes and another of someone snapping twigs beneath the soles of their shoes. With suspension lingering in the air, we waited impatiently for the invaders to reveal themselves.
In view came two heavily armored men with bows loaded with arrows pointed down so they could immediately whip it up and shoot at any threat towards them.

Pan smirked and I sent him a questioning look and his look replied something along the lines of wait, and see... So I waited in anticipation and uncertainly watched my only source of protection leave me injured in the woods with two scary men. Soon enough, I recognized Pan's presence again however this time, instead of hiding among the leafy, green bushes, he stood right behind the two men who luckily didn't suspect anything. Yet...
Pan sneaked closer towards them and tapped the closest man's shoulder. He jumped silently into a huge heap of bushes as the man turned around. Catching the man off guard, he placed his hand over his mouth and dragged his body with him and disappeared again. Damn, is he a magician or something?

Unfortunately the other man caught on to his friend going missing and scanned the forest on the spot. Pan appeared behind the man when his back was turned and as soon as he turned around and noticed Pan; Pan had already placed his hands on the sides of the mans head and twisted it vigorously. It was almost as if the click of the head probably snapping off the neck had warned the whole forest that danger was approaching.

He clapped the imaginary dust of his fingers and his gaze snapped up to mine when he remembered about his audience. I gulped, fear pumping through my veins as I backed away slowly. Only, this just motivated him to come closer and with long winding steps he came closer like a predator stalking his prey. My heart pulsated in my head while I felt as if my throat was closing up. I had just witnessed murder before my very eyes and God knows how he got rid of the first man.
