'Cause I have hella feelings for you, I act like I don't fucking care, Like they ain't even there,'
IDFC - Blackbear

"Hey Baelfire" I greeted, the only friend I had made so far in Neverland, suddenly becoming very chirpy.

"Wendy" Baelfire acknowledged me, his eyes lighting up with joy dancing in his pupils. He jogged towards me and briefly wrapped his arms around me as I did the same to him. A scent of fresh rain and burnt wood wafted through my nose as I held him tightly.
"Long time no see"
"It's only been a couple of hours" He laughed softly, his chest rumbling against mine. After finally letting go from our embrace, we walked side by side in the opposite direction to the mystical lake.
"So how ya been?" he asked with an unidentifiable accent lingering in his words.
"Not bad, how about you?"
"Same old, same old... So what were you doing with Pan?" he asked awkwardly.
"Not much really, he brought me to some 'magical' lake and warned me about pointless stuff" I air quoted the 'magical' part with my fingers.
"Really, seems like you had a good time with him"
"Please, the only time I will have a good time with him is when he is dead" I said sternly, my face free of any emotions.
"You really hate him, don't you?" He asked, his lips pulling up into a cheeky smirk.
"That is an understatement" I scoffed, rolling my eyes to exclaim my point.
"I guess I'm not the only one. Everyone else just worships the ground he walks on, he acts like he is the best but all he is, is an arrogant lying cheating snake that just" My eyes widened in alert as I heard a rustle in the bushes that went unnoticed to the boy next to me, insulting Pan. In a swift motion, my finger was up against his lips to silence him however, because of the panic and quickness of my movement, it increased the force which slammed Baelfire into the tree with me pressed against his body. A few seconds passed with his eyebrows creased and his eyes boring straight into mine with confusion evident in them; I jerked my head towards the direction of the bushes where another rustle of leaves emerged from it.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" A familiar voice called out from the direction of the bushes and out climbed Pan with a dangerous glint in his eyes. I scrambled off of Baelfire as a blanket of redness tinted my cheeks the color of tomatoes.
"It's not what it looks like?" I hurriedly said, avoiding his gaze.
"And what exactly does it look like?" Pan asked with a raised eyebrow making me scowl with my next words.
"I don't have to explain myself to you" I stated stubbornly whilst scowling.
"Is that so?" He asked taking a step towards me. Deciding not to seem intimidated, I stood my ground with my chin poised up high in the air.
"Neal, scram" Pan instructed Baelfire, not even sparing a glance in his direction. I didn't miss the sympathetic look in Baelfire's eyes but I nodded at him, reassuring him that I would be fine and he disappeared among the greenery.
"Where did you go?" I asked curiously.
"Why? Did you miss me?" A smug smirk was placed on his lips as he teased me immaturely.
"In your dreams lover boy"
"You bet, actually you wanna know what else I dream about? You in a sexy-"
"Okay hold it right there" I turned around expecting Pan to be a few feet away from me but estimated wrong as I crashed right into him. His eyes glowed and an expression I was unfamiliar with was plastered on his face: his eyes bored into mine searching for something he knew that wasn't there. No words were said and only our heavy breaths filled the silence. After a few moments, Pan averted his gaze and cleared his throat, breaking the delicate silence.

"We should really be getting back"
"Yeah we should" I said rubbing my arm, a nervous habit I couldn't get rid of.
I followed Pan through the endless forest until we reached back to camp where a fire was cackling with lost boys surrounding it. Among the crowd, I spotted Baelfire sitting on a log by himself who was watching everyone like a hawk until he noticed me. His hand waved over at me and I returned the same gesture before deserting Pan and ran towards Baelfire. I collapsed against Baelfire's wide arms with excitement as he held me in a tight yet comfortable and mutual embrace. I didn't know what I would do without someone as kind and brotherly as Baelfire by my side in this hellhole. He made everything just about bearable and I valued him for that.
