As I drove us home, multiple thoughts swirled in my head.

I can't believe that I kissed Hailee Campbell. For days, I've been dreaming of doing that.

Her lips felt perfect against mine. Even if the kiss was short, when she pulled away, I could still taste her pomegranate Chapstick on my lips.

I know I might be moving too fast, but it's just that I've never felt this way about anyone before. Although we've only known each other for barely a week, I already like her a lot.

I snapped out of my thoughts once I realized that she was talking to me.

"Sorry, what were you saying?" I asked.

"Oh. I said thank you for tonight. I had a lot of fun. " she repeated sheepishly.

She's so adorable. Whatever she does is just so beautiful.

"Oh, you're welcome. I did too." I winked at her.

She blushes deeply, and shifts in her seat.

After a few beats of silence, I turned on the radio.

I immediately recognised the song as "Give Me Love" by Ed Sheeran.

It's one of my favorite songs. I began to softly sing along to it. Soon, the song was finished, and as I looked at the passenger seat, I saw that Hailee was recording me the entire time.

"You know, Hailee. If you wanted to have a video of me singing this song, I have one on my YouTube." I teased.

"I know that. But I wanted one just for myself. " she smiled shyly.

I nodded my head "Hailee. I know it's a little early, but after tonight, do you think you would become my girlfriend if I asked you?"

She was silent for a while, and it kind of scared me, to be honest.

Finally, she spoke up. "You know, Shawn I would. I really would love to be your girlfriend. But, I don't know either. Because my ex, Harry is trying to get me back. I don't wanna drag you into this mess. And just me in general. I'm still broken from the last time. He really hurt me a lot, Shawn. I don't wanna put you through all of this."

I was dumbfounded for moment, while I tried to find the right words to say.

"Hailee. I promise to you. I can handle all of that. I'd go through it all. Just for you. I've never felt this way about anyone else before. I don't know what the heck I'm doing, but all I know is I want to call you mine. Even with all your strings attached. "

By the end of my impromptu speech, her cheeks were stained by tears. I wiped them away using my thumb.

As I pulled up in front of our homes, Hailee immediately unbuckled her seat belt and hugged me tightly.

"Thank you so much, Shawn. For everything. " she whispered in my ear.

Her warm breath hitting the side of my neck was driving me insane. I just want to kiss her over and over, until both our our lips fall off.

"You're welcome. You don't deserve to go through all these rough times alone. I'm always here for you." I reminded her.

With that, She pulled away, and kissed me on the cheek. It took a lot in me not to move my face to align my lips with hers.

After she kissed me, my cheek felt like it was burning from her touch.

I shook off my thoughts, And I unbuckled my seatbelt, and opened Hailee's door for her.

Then, I walked her to her front porch.

She gave me another hug before entering.

"Bye Shawn."  She smiled.

I gave her a small smile and replied "Bye Hailee." 

I walked to my house,  and immediately headed to my bedroom.

That night,  I fell asleep with Hailee on my mind. I dreamt of what it would be like if she was my girlfriend. It was the greatest dream I've ever had.
