I can't believe it. I freeze for a second when I hear his voice. He's okay! Rylan's really okay. I rush to his side and throw my arms around his neck. I feel a few joyful tears trickle down my cheeks. His arms hold me tight for I don't know how long when I pull away to plant a kiss on his lips. I look into ok his eyes.

"I missed you." Is all I can whisper out. "I missed you so much."

"I missed you Sunshine" he croaks. I let out a sigh of relief. The first one I think I in the past three months. I rest my head on his chest and hear his heart beating in my ear. Soft, slow, and steady. I don't know what to do with myself. I takes l the will power I have to pull away. I place my hand on his cheek, framing his face, taking in his features. Then I notice the charms on my wrist as the jingle together on his skin. Eric. How can I tell Rylan about him? What do I even say?

"Pretty bracelet." Says Rylan taking my wrist to get a closer look. "Birthday present?" He asks.

"Um... yeah. You know what day it is?"

"Sunny, there's a clock right over there and it has the date on it in bright red numbers."

"Oh. Sorry. Guess I'm just kinda... in shock. But yes it was a birthday present."

"From who? Your parents?" He asks. Here we go. This is the moment. I'm going to tell him.

"No. From my new friend. Actually." I say nervously.

"Eric." He says sounding really sure of himself. It takes me by surprise.

"Um. Yeah actually. How did you know his name?"

"Don't know. The name just kind of came to me. Sounded familiar." cocking his head to the side.

So it IS true. People in comas CAN hear you and they CAN remember things. I look into his eyes again.

"What else do you remember?" I ask.
