Chapter 22

Eric and I sit on the porch and Rylan heads home. Rylan waited around until Eric was on his way. Not hoping for me to change my mind or anything, just enjoying the final hours of me being his and his alone. "You'll always be my best friend." I'd told him. "And you'll always be my Sunshine." He replied as he gave me a quick side hug.

I take a deep breath as I try to figure out how to start this.
"So Eric, I know that our relationship so far has been nothing but complicated." I begin and he can tell this is important. He turns and listens carefully. "Anyway, we both know that I had a decision to make."
"Had?" He asks.
"Yes Eric. 'Had'. I've made my choice and..." There is so much pressure on me right now I can barely breathe. I bury my forehead in my casted hands. "Eric. I told Rylan already and... it's you." I half whisper and peek up over my hands. He doesn't look sure but he looks hopeful.
"What's me?"
"I... choose you Eric. It's always been you. I want to call you mine and I want to be with you. I choose you Eric." I breathe a sigh of relief and smile up at him. His face relaxes and he takes me in his arms.
"I love you Sunny." He says and strokes my hair.
"I love you too Eric." Sit up to look into his eyes. Those piercing green eyes. When he puts his lips to mine I feel that thing again. That warmth that overtook me on the over look. The thing that made me want more.
I lean back and look into those eyes.
"So this is love?" I ask.
"Guess it is." He answers. "And our adventure is only beginning."
