Maybe it isn't such a good idea. Introducing Eric and Rylan. The last thing I want is for them to start some kind of rivalry and me be stuck in the middle. That seem selfish I know but I have a choice. One of which could end bad. The other which cold end bad.

I could introduce them and they hate each other. Or I couldn't introduce them and they end up fighting over me. Seriously, Sunny, wake up! Realize what's happening. You've literally never been in a relationship but now you're in two. Wow. This is so not how I was expecting this summer to , play out.

Anyways, I just walk out of the hospital and Mom's waiting in the car. We take the rid home and she can tell somethings bugging me. I can feel it. But she doesn't say anything. Not yet. She'll give me some space and if I don't come to her, she confront me. It's this unspoken deal we have.

We get home and I hop on the four wheeler. Just kind of hoping Eric's out at our clearing. He is. He looks up at me and I can see the concern in his face. I hop down and rush into his arms.

"He's awake." I breath out. He makes a sound of relief and holds me close. I feel a tear or two trickle down my cheek. He pulls away but keeps his hands around my waist, he keeps me close and brushes a few wisps of hair behind my ear.

"He's okay." He whispers.

"Yes."

"You're okay."

"Yes." He pulls me close again. As he holds me I wonder. Once he lets go, what do I do? What do I say to him? I'm just hoping he's the first to speak. He is.

"Now what?" He asks. Really? He's the first to speak but he asks a question? Just my luck.

"I'm not really sure." I say with all the sincerity in the world. "I've thought about it myself."

"Well, we could begin by you telling me what happened. I am truly intrigued." I give a tiny eye roll at his silly word play and begin.

"Cory, Laura, and Nancy showed up and told me. Then we jumped in the car and drove to the hospital. Rylan was sitting in bed looking at me and called me Sunshine again. Then I gave him probably the biggest hug ever given in human history. He remembered your name." At that he stops me.

"You talked about me?"

"Um yeah, the day after we met. I went him and told him about the rain and the mud and the ride home. Apparently he could hear me through whatever walls hold you in a coma."

"Did he remember anything else?" He asks. Should I do it?

"Um... yeah he did."

"What was it?" He asks with an amazing amount of enthusiasm.

"He remembered I kissed him and I said I loved him." I say it so fast I'd not know how he catches it.

"Cool." Wow that was not the reaction that I was expecting.

"Really?"

"Yeah. The part about the coma and remembering my name. That's really cool." He half tells, half explains. Oh well as long as h doesn't mention anything about the--

"He remembered you kissing him huh?" He asks, his eyebrows raised.

I continue he my thought where I left off. --kiss. Couldn't get lucky enough today.

"Yep. Look, Eric, there's really no reason for this to be awkward. Rylan or no Rylan I'm still your "little sister"." I tell him with a tiny smile. He pulls me into a hug and squeezes me close.

"You know for a fact I would never try to come between you and him. And by the way you talk, doesn't seem like he would either."

Would he? Would Rylan be jealous? He always hated having things taken from him. Not in a literal sense. Just seems like when you loose a big brother at the age of four, you try to hold on to what you have. He has me.

"Well... don't hold your breath." I begin and tell him about what I had just thought through.

"Honestly, I can't blame him. I understand his problem. It's just that... that..."

"That what?"

"It's just that.. I was going to ask you if you'd like to go out with me on Friday."

"Like a date?"

"Well... yeah. I've realized that I really like you and I'd like to go on a proper date. But if Rylan's not okay with that... just forget it."

"Who said Rylan runs my life?" I ask, with smirk on my face. "Yes I'll go on a date with you."

"Great. I guess... I'll pick you up at eight?"

"Yep. What did you have in mind?"

"You'll have to wait and see."

"Okay. How should I dress? Old jeans or a dress?" I ask. He raises his eyebrows.

"You? In a dress? That'd be a sight."

"A sight you'd like to see?" I ask with a tiny smirk and a giggle.

"Well... since you offered." He says with the color flooding to his cheeks. I laugh.

"Okay. If you insist."
