Hello Girl
Do you like your little world?
Do you like your pretty hair?
Do you like your skin so fair?
Do you like the friends you worked so hard to gain?
Do you love the sky that pours out rain?
Do you care for the mother that hugs you tight?
Do you love the stars at night?
How about all your coats?
Or the water, peppered with boats?
Surely you appreciate the roof over your head?
Glad it wasn't given to someone else instead?
My dear Girl,
Be happy for your world
Be happy you can go to school
Even if you don't think it's 'cool'
Girl, you were given so much
The ability of sight and the power of touch
Born to a first world
Weren't you, Girl?
Stop crying over a broken heart
This is how it will start
You'll start to not eat
Until you're so weak you can't stand on your feet
You'll cut your wrists and let them bleed
Forgetting about those in need
Selfish Girl
Spoiled Girl
You were given oh so much
But others were given only such
Forget those in poverty
Forget you won life's lottery
Forget about your pretty hair
And keep on saying life isn't fair
