Understand - Shawn Mendes

Emily's POV

Collins was coming to pick me up in about five minutes. I am so nervous! He seemed sweet when we first met, I didn't want to blow it just in case we become friends.

-5 minutes later-

The door bell went off, I knew it was Collins so I ran down the stairs being careful not to fall. I took a right, flew past the kitchen, when I got about 10 feet from the door I slowed down and walked. The door bell sounded again and I quickly opened the door. There Collins was standing, the first thing I noticed about his appearance were his bright blue eyes! I'd never seen eyes like that before. They were so pretty!
I stared at him for a few moments, then he caught me staring into his eyes then spoke.

"Hey.. Umm.. Emily?" He said.

"Uhh.. Yeah?! Oh sorry, it's just your eyes!! There so BLUE!

"Yeah.. I know.. But your cute- I mean pretty-no nice- never mind! Let's go.. shall we?! He said with a chuckle.

"Yes!" I also said laughing

I stepped out of the house, Collins closed the door behind me. We walked down the stairs to the side walk.
"The beach is about a ten minute walk from here, so not very far. " Collins said.
"Ok!" I responded.
We headed down to the beach.
-
"So.. Do you have any hobbies?" Collins asked trying to make conversation.

"Umm.. I really like to wright! It's one of my favourite things"

"Oh cool! Working on any stories right now?!"

"Uh yeah, it's called 'I love him' it's a love story between a girl and a boy.  ( see what I did there 😉 ) Cheesiest thing ever but.."

"I'm sure it's great!" He said with a smile.

"thanks. So... do you have any hobbies..?"

"Yeah! I'm really into magic!" He said with excitement

"WHAT?! THATS SO COOL!"

Collins laughed. " yeah!!" - Hey look! We're here!"

"Oh, wow. That's a beach!"

Collins laughed.

"C'mon Emily!" He Grabbed my hand, I then pulled away. He stopped moving

He looked over at me, "I'm sorry I didn't -" I cut him off

"It's ok, just umm.." I was about to tell him why I didn't want him taking my hand then he cut me off.

"You don't need to tell me."

I was relieved he said that.
I gave him a a small nod.  A smile appeared upon his face. He pointed towards the water awkwardly "do you see those docks over there?" He asked shyly.  "Oh, yeah!" I responded
I saw sky blue water with a long narrow dock, almost looking like it was flouting on top of the blue water from my perspective. But obviously not flouting. He told me it was his favorite place to go, he said the sunset was pretty,  the boaters and surfers were always fun to watch.
We started to walk over.
