*Lacey's POV*

I lay awake every night, begging sleep to come but it never does. Sighing, I rolled out of bed and turned the light on. I wonder just how long a person can not sleep before they go crazy. Who knows, maybe I already am. It sure would explain a lot. I walked over to the dresser and opened the drawer. I took the bag hidden underneath my clothes out and counted. I only had two pills left and no idea what I was gonna do when they were gone. I'm too tired to think about that right now though. Taking out one of the pills, I crushed it up and inhaled. The familiar feeling of peace crept over me, and I found myself slowly drifting off to sleep.

A red ball bounced down the stairs and landed at her feet. She bent down and picked it up, her tiny hands barely able to hold it. Grinning, she ran up the stairs and into a bedroom. Race car posters and little league trophies lined the room. A little boy with brown hair and even darker eyes looked up and smiled. "Sissy! Wanna play?" She threw the ball as hard as she could, barely making it half of the way to him. He jumped up grinning and picked it up. "Let's go outside and play." he said and ran down the stairs, her following close behind.

Sweat beaded my forehead and drenched my body as I tossed and turned. "Wha.." I mumbled as I opened my eyes and looked around. Nothing had changed. Everything was just as it was when I fell asleep, including the light being on. The dream seemed so real, like it actually happened. "Get ahold of yourself" I scolded. It must have been the drugs, I thought as I turned over and tried in vain to go back to sleep.

*Tyler's POV*

Even though it's been a few weeks since the night of the party, Lacey still won't talk to me, and I think Rose knows too cause whenever I go near her she shoots me a dirty look and walks off. I really wish I could go back to that night. Undo everything I did. But I can't. And no one will give me the chance to redeem myself. That's what really gets me. I mean, I make one mistake and I can never live it down. Yeah, it was a pretty big mistake I'll admit but I've tried to make it up to her and she won't even give me the time of day. This trip definitely isn't going how I wanted it to.

I walked outside and down to the river. I needed to clear my head and I found the sounds of the water soothing. I stared out at the water, watching it run over rocks and branches, never once stopping. If only it could carry me away from here to start a new life in a new place, I thought as I picked up a rock and skipped it. Lost in thought, I didn't hear the footsteps behind me until a hand grabbed my arm. I spun around, ready to swing, but it was just Aura. "What are you doing out here?" I asked. She shrugged her shoulders and replied, "Just taking a walk. I don't normally come out this far but I kinda lost track of time. Got a lot on my mind right now." I rolled my eyes, being careful that she couldn't see me. "Wanna talk about it?" Shaking her head no she replied, "Thanks but I don't really wanna talk about it right now." She turned and walked away without another word. That was kinda weird but whatever, I thought and laid down on the grass, the warmth of the sun slowly lulling me to sleep.

*Oliver's POV*

"Where are we going?" Sam asked, her eyes covered by my hands. "It's a surprise. Just wait and see." I replied. I really hope she likes this, I thought as the clearing came into view. "Okay, you can open your eyes." I said and took my hands away. A red blanket was laid out on the ground, a picnic basket on top of it. "You did this all for me?" she asked, her eyes alight with excitement. I guided her towards the blanket and told her to sit. Once she was situated, I sat down beside her and opened the basket. It wasn't much, but it was all I could come up with. This had been a spur of the moment idea and I didn't really have a lot of time to plan it out or even go to town to get more supplies. I pulled out two bologna sandwiches, chips, and a bag of grapes. "I know it's not much, but it's all I could come up with on such short notice. I hope you like it." I said as I pulled out two candles and lit them as the finishing touch. "It's perfect. Thank you.." she replied. Neither of us talked while we ate but the silence wasn't in the least bit awkward. After she finished her last bite she leaned over and laid her head in my lap. "This was really nice. I definitely needed it with all the drama that's been going on lately." I leaned down and kissed her, her lips still sweet from the grapes. She grabbed my hair and pulled, deepening the kiss. I lightly fingered one of the thin straps holding up her shirt and pulled it down. She sat up, giving me access to her bra which I unhook and pulled off her. She laid back down, and I stared at her, admiring her beauty. My fingers traced a slow path down her body, lingering on her soft breast. I rolled her nipple between my thumb and forefinger, extremely turned on by her reaction. She shimmied out of her pants, now in nothing but her underwear. I leaned down and kissed her neck, her body arching in response. I heard her gasp, but it didn't sound like one of pleasure. Confused, I looked up and her eyes were wide with fright. "What's.." I started to say but was silenced as I felt a sharp pain in the back of my head. I reached back and touched my head. My hand was sticky as I pulled it away. The last thing I heard was her scream as consciousness slipped away.

*Samantha's POV*

I remember seeing a man sneaking up behind Oliver, and tried to scream but was too late. I watched as he hit Oliver in the back of the head with a rock, successfully knocking him out. I tried to get away, but he was too fast. He grabbed my leg and pulled me to him. I kicked out, hitting him in the chest but it didn't even slow him down. He slammed my face on the ground, stunning me. He pinned me on the ground, my struggles growing more feeble with each passing minute. I quickly became tired, and eventually stopped fighting. "Please, let me go." I begged, but he just laughed. I felt the tip of a blade in my stomach, and knew it wasn't going to end well for me. "Please..don't.." I sobbed. I yelled out in pain as he shoved the blade deep into my stomach, twisting as he pulled it out. Another stab, deeper than the first left me unable to move, and I started losing consciousness as he stabbed me for the third time, high up near my chest. "Why.." I moaned, struggling to stay awake, but he never replied. His cruel laugh filled my ears as I lost the fight, unconsciousness finally claiming me.

The pain was excruciating. I couldn't move, couldn't scream. All I could do was lie there and watch as my blood soaked through the blanket and into the ground. I'm not gonna make it, I thought as I tried in vain to roll over. "Ol..iver.." I tried to say, but nothing came out. Please, someone, anyone, help me, I pleaded as my vision grew dim and I passed out once again.

*Tyler's POV*

Even though I was perfectly content laying here all night I knew I needed to be heading back to the cabin. The light had begun to fade, darkness closing in fast. Sighing, I stood up and slowly made my way back. I hadn't gotten very far when I heard a strange noise. It sounded like moaning, or crying or something. I stopped dead in my tracks, listening for the direction in which they were coming from. They sounded real close by, maybe ten feet in front of me. Something about the sounds raised the hairs on my arm. I crept forward, hoping to avoid being heard. The closer I got, I could hear whimpers, as if someone or something was in pain. Please be an animal, I thought as I made my way through the tall grass. "Oh my God!" I yelled. The sight of both Samantha and Oliver covered in blood and unconscious was too much. Falling to my knees, I vomited and started crying. I knew I needed to get help, but my body wouldn't move. "They need you, pull yourself together. " I said to myself in a shaky but stern voice. Jumping up, I ran probably the fastest I ever had before. "HELP! I need help!" I screamed as soon as the house came into view. Dimitri and Rose came running out, both looking on the verge of a panic attack. "What is it? What's wrong?" Dimitri demanded. "It's..Sam..and..Oliver.." I panted, struggling to catch my breath. "They..were attacked. They're hurt really bad. We gotta help them. Follow me." I added. I took off, both close behind. As soon as their bodies could be seen, Rose sped up and ran over to Sam. She covered her with shirt, which until now, I didn't even realize she didn't have one on. "SAM! Can you hear me? Wake up, please!" she cried. Sam didn't move, and I feared the worst. Oliver began to stir, and I knelt down beside him, shaking him lightly. "Wha..what happened?" he asked, his eyes barely open. "I don't know..I found you and Sam this way. We're gotta get you guys help." Oliver rolled over, trying to make his way to Sam but collapsed. "Take it easy. Don't hurt yourself." I said. I looked over to Dimitri and added, "Run and get the rest of the gang. We're gonna need all the help we can to carry these two to the car. Hurry!" Who would do something like this, I thought to myself. To make matters worse, we couldn't just call for help. None of our cell phones worked here, and there wasn't one in the cabin either. I waited for Dimitri to get back, Sam slipping away with each passing minute. Finally, I heard footsteps and the rest of them arrived. I stood up and said "Chester and Dimitri, grab her legs and I'll hold her head. But be careful." Oliver could stand on his own at this point. He tried to help but Lacey took his hand and said "No Oliver, you're hurt too." Reluctantly he nodded and let her lead him away.

My shirt was soaked with Sam's blood by the time we finally made it to the car. We gently laid her on the back seat and Rose sat down, putting Sam's head in her lap. Dimitri and Lacey got in and took off. The rest of us jumped in the Tahoe and tried to catch up. I didn't know exactly how far away the closest hospital was but one thing was for sure. If we didn't get Sam help and fast, she wasn't going to make it.
